Food on offer includes salads and flat breads as well as having its own bar open between 11am and 6pm. During the day the restaurant is a relaxed Caribbean café, offering an al fresco dining experience. Blue Waters Resort has recently unveiled a new major plastic reducing initiative to its property, installing refillable water stations around the property and introducing complimentary BPA-free water bottles for guests to reuse. Introducing Neem Avenue products to the bathrooms has replaced all single-use plastic whilst providing a fully-organic option for guests to use.
The resort recycles all aluminium on its property as well as any of its building materials. All soft furnishing at the suites such as rugs are also made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
Fresh produce is grown on-site at the resort itself to maintain a low carbon footprint and reduce food packaging and waste. The resort also offers suitable food waste to local farmers for animal feed, ensuring that it is not wasted and helps the local community whilst doing so.
The resort composts seaweed due to it being a natural fertiliser and indigenous to the island.
The island itself thrives off of the natural ecosystems that surround the beaches, mainly the underwater ecosystems that are home to many species of turtles and fish. The resort consults with marine biologists regularly to discuss the impact of the resort and its effect on the beaches and ecosystems. This allows the resort to better improve their sustainability and protect the creatures of the Caribbean.

The resort has eliminated the use of motorised water sports, replacing them with sustainable alternatives that do not increase Blue Waters’ carbon footprint. There are instead alternatives such as windsurfing available that run based on the natural weather. Diving and snorkelling also allows guests to go below the waters and explore the delicate ecosystems that are being protected.
