Hue Ecolodge

Hue Ecolodge is a an array of charming bungalows made from bamboo, wood, rattan and straw that are set next to the Perfume River within a lush vegetation that hides you away from the world. They are the first local provider of accommodation that focuses and engages in economically and responsible tourism in Hue. The concept is that you’ll stay in one of the “garden homes” that haven’t damaged the local scenery by using sustainable materials and the preservation of the local area.

Hue Ecolodge is located in Thuy Bieu, a tranquil village merely 7 km (4.3 miles) from the city centre of Hue. It’s just a 15 minute drive to Phu Bai airport or Hue railway station and a short bike ride to the beautiful surrounding, traditional villages. With the backdrop of the Ngu Binh Mountain and nestled right next to the Iconic Perfume River, it’s ideally located for serene scenery and a short journey to civilisation.

The Hue Ecolodge comprises of 15 bungalows and 30 rooms in total. Every room is decorated in a traditional fashion, likened to the culture setting of Thuy Bieu village. Amenities such as air conditioning, block out curtains, private outdoor garden, a desk and mini bar are included in all types of rooms.

Deluxe

The Deluxe Rooms are surrounded by lush tropical gardens complete with fruit or flowers, assuring magnificent view over the verdant space or river. Having a private sit-out leading to the garden, the deluxe rooms are ideal for families with children or for couples.

Deluxe Triple

Hue Ecolodge combines Hue traditional home style with modern comforts and rustic chic décor, creating a cosy homely atmosphere and a truly local feel. Its straw thatched roofs, baked brick wall, bamboo interiors and wooden furniture blend effortlessly into its pristine natural landscape.

Deluxe Connecting

There are 6 superior rooms that can accommodate single, double guests. All are fully equipped with air-conditions and comfortable beds, complete with relaxing garden view. The Superior Room features bamboo/wooden interiors and wooden floor.

The restaurant is designed to embody Hue refined traditional housing architecture. It features a high roof to keep the room well ventilated and filled with fresh air. Its elaborate interiors, bamboo lamps and wooden furniture bring an elegant, cosy and truly Hue feel. There is an open air veranda outside the restaurant, reserved for small cooking classes. On offer is a fantastic blend of Hue traditional food and some other Vietnamese quintessential delicacies. They use organic vegetables and herbs grown in their own gardens and from nearby families so that our guests can enjoy the freshest and best quality food.

Are you an adventurous type, well you can hire a bicycle and venture off down the road to find local eateries, temples or excursions to nip your need for adventure in the bud. Such experiences as an eco cooking class can be added onto your trip here as well as becoming a fisherman in Chuon Lagoon. Well, “the world is your oyster” as they say! Due to the closeness to the Perfume river, boat excursions can also be made to venture further up or down river to find imperial tombs, to caves that are just begging to be ventured into.

Tours & Classes

There is something for everyone with many opportunities to learn new skills including cooking classes, discovering handicraft villages and exploring Thuy Bieu eco-village, perfect for admiring the picturesque landscape along the Perfume River. Alternatively, there is the opportunity to get more hands on and become a fisherman in Chuon Lagoon whilst exploring the untouched surrounding landscape in depth.
