Explore the spellbinding landscapes, and gaze up at the star-speckled Patagonian night sky through the domed ceiling, while being lulled to sleep by the ambience of the surrounding forest.
Patagonia Camp
Located within the Torres del Paine private reserve, Patagonia Camp is on the shores of Lake Toro offering incredible views of the Macizo del Paine. The camp supports local farmers by supplying them with compost from their compost centre. The camp has a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and handles waste responsibly, while utilising reusable and compostable products wherever it can. As part of their initiative to leave the surrounding land as they found it, innovative water treatments and neutral amenities mean that the water used is restored to the same purity it started with. The knowledgeable team of staff consist mainly of locals who are passionate about ecology and conservation, and provide travellers with the opportunity for a more authentic cultural exchange and to know Patagonia like the locals.
Patagonia Camp has an innovative water treatment plant that is 100% organic with “turba” peat vegetation and bacteria that allows them to transform the water they use back into the same purity it was found in. All cleaning products and amenities are neutral and biodegradable.
All organic residue produced is transformed into compost by worms in the camp’s compost centre, to be used by local farmers.
Everything that can be recycled is and reusable containers, including water bottles for guests, are implemented throughout the camp to reduce their waste output. Plastic wraps are replaced with reusable, washable and compostable waxed cotton cloths and glass containers are taken to the city to be properly recycled.
