Richard’s River Camp was initially established as owners Richard and Liz’s “home from home” in 2006 but Richard’s family have lived in Kenya since the late 1940s and his father was involved in forming the Ol Choro Oiroua Conservancy, which was where Richard grew up from the age of 3. On her various travels, Liz has brought back beautiful fabrics and furniture to decorate the camp, really giving that personal touch that’ll make guests feel right at home. The Camp offers a luxury camp experience in the heart of the Maasai Mara. With just 7 tents, it’s a prime location for those with privacy and peace and quiet in mind. A permanent water supply is provided by the Ngoyanai springs, attracting cohorts of animals to the camp’s surroundings. The River Camp is newer than its sister location, the Forest Camp, promising facilities that are more modern and contemporary.
