Sala Lodges

Smitten with the charm of this architecture during their Cambodian peregrinations, the founders of Sala Lodges have reunited eleven houses dating from 1956 to 1985 in order to create a unique hotel and village. Frequently destined to disappear, the houses have consequently been preserved and benefit from a new lease of life. Amidst a dense jungle undergrowth sprout these unique and culturally correct wooden buildings on stilts. As a family, lovers or with friends, everyone finds a place which fulfils their requirements for luxury and intimacy. Along the pathways of the lush gardens, guests are able to smell, gather and taste fruits, vegetables and aromatic plants from the region. According to the seasons, residents will have the opportunity to witness either a rice harvest or replanting of the paddies. Oriented full west, the pool area  amidst lush vegetation and sun loungers beckons for relaxation following a day long excursion. The Monolith and Bar uses local ingredients for the nearby markets, vegetables and herbs from the surrounding gardens to create delicious, bespoke dishes for all guests. There is also a more romantic option with dining made on the terrace to overlook the beautiful vegetation and dine at night below the starry sky for a unique dinner for two. If you’re looking for a Special evening or a surprise, the hotel can cater for outdoor barbecues and tailor-made dining experiences made by the on site chefs. Tours and Excursions can be added to your stay here where you can journey to nearby attractions or points of interest. These include a journey down river via kayaks, hiking trips and more.

Accommodation is available in 11 traditional wooden houses on stilts amidst rice paddies , all featuring feature modern amenities. These include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, minibars, mosquito nets, safety deposit boxes, and tea/coffee making facilities. Each house has its own cultural history with the architecture dating back to the 1950’s with both the interior and exterior conserved in that decade to retain a pure, refined and ultimately, a luxurious stay. The Monolith & Bar

The restaurant with its contemporary lines contrast with the view of the traditional Khmer houses of Sala Lodges which were carefully selected from the regions surrounding the town of Siem Reap. The chef and his team have created dishes from the best of Cambodian cuisine. Each morning, they wander through the local markets to select the best produce. Seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants from our garden surrounding the houses are to be found at the heart of the dishes. Throughout the day, a variety of delicious tapas and snacks keeps hunger at bay. At the bar, cocktail enthusiasts are able to choose between traditional or reworked concoctions, with alcohol or as mocktails. Throughout the day those searching for an energy boost can enjoy a little espresso standing at the counter or can opt for a fresh juice packed with vitamins.

Long Table Open-Air Lounge

Residents enjoy dining in convivial surroundings. Throughout the day, a variety of delicious tapas and snacks keeps hunger at bay. Special evenings with a barbecue or a surprise created by the chef can be organised. Occasionally, artists and experts on South-East Asia conduct the show or share their wealth of knowledge and passion with guests. This covered space situated at the heart of Sala Lodges is equally conducive to impromptu moments, friendly meetings or reunions. Linked to the dining room by a wooden bridge, the alfresco lounge is the ideal place to enjoy a drink at the end of the day. A stone’s throw from the swimming pool and facing direct west, the lounge encourages relaxation. Shaded by parasols throughout the day, this area will delight those who wish to read or daydream, cocooned in comfy armchairs, with the occasional glance or two at the Khmer countryside and the beautiful trees that surround Sala Lodges.

Ideal for lounging, your lodge’s terrace can become the perfect setting for an unforgettable romantic dinner.
