Victoria Falls River Lodge is placed on the southern side of the winding Zambezi River, just inside the border of Zimbabwe. This location gives you premium access to the magnificent falls, as well as the biodiverse Zambezi National Park and the historic town of Livingstone across the border. Within the dense areas of Mopane woodland in the Zambezi National Park you may see elephant, lion, leopard, zebra, giraffe and impala.
The lodge is also just 30 minutes away from Victoria Falls international airport, ensuring that your arrival to the lodge after touching down is swift.

Able to accommodate two adults, these luxurious, 110 square metre thatched tents are fully air-conditioned to protect you from Africa’s oft-intense heat. Constructed of canvas, glass and wood for eco-friendly and authenticity reasons, each extends out onto a private deck with a plunge pool and boasts scenic panoramas of the Zambezi River and natural bush.
The bed is larger than king-size and is supported by a comfortable sitting area and an open plan bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and both indoor and outdoor showers. Twin bedded sleeping configurations are also possible.
In addition to the host of amenities available in the Luxury Tent, the 110 square metre Luxury Family Tents at Victoria Falls River Lodge offer families an adjoining tented room.
Coming with either one single (¾ sized) bed and one bunk bed, or twin ¾ sized beds where up to three sharing children younger than 17 years old can sleep comfortably, the children’s alcove allows parents a bit more privacy whilst still keeping their children in close enough proximity for their peace of mind. The large en-suite bathrooms are open plan and shared, though a curtain can be drawn between the bathroom and main living area thereby to maintain privacy.
Hidden among the trees on the banks of the secluded Kandahar Island and accessible by boat only, all of the 4 magnificent, 95 square metre Island Treehouses can accommodate a maximum of two guests (16 years and older) and feature a host of luxury conveniences, an elegantly appointed sitting area, a spacious en-suite bathroom and a private deck, complete with plunge pool.
In addition to the wealth of luxuries offered in the Island Treehouses, the 100 square metre, two-storey Starbed Treehouses also boast an extensive sitting area, en-suite bathroom with twin vanities and twin rain-showers and a private rooftop sitting area, with its signature Starbed. It is perfect for honeymooners, or anyone wishing to reconnect with nature.
Only guests aged 16 years and older may be accommodated on The Island.

Victoria Falls River Lodge and the Zambezi National Park are a bird watcher’s paradise. Here, birding enthusiasts are able to view a great diversity of birds within their rainforest, riverine, gorge and savannah habitats.
Local species include Rock Pratincole, Schalow’s Turaco, African Finfoot, Half Collared Kingfisher, Thick Billed Weaver, African Skimmer, Pels Fishing Owl, Collared Palm Thrush and Western Banded Snake Eagle, among hundreds more. Guests at Victoria Falls River Lodge seldom need to travel too far from their private decks to view these birds, as the luscious foliage surrounding the lodge offers ample opportunity to enjoy the variety of bird life that Zimbabwe has to offer.

Timing is seasonal and in consultation with Management
The Zambezi Crescent Collection prides itself on providing free schooling to all pre-schoolers living in the National Park’s Staff Village. In keeping with the true African culture of vast and extended family structures, this offer is inclusive of not only children of Parks’ employees, but also relatives of those employed by the National Park and even the children of friends of Park’s employees who live in the Zambezi National Park Staff Village.
Zambezi Crescent Preschool, opened in January 2018 and consisting of more than 15 children, is located just a few metres from the children’s homes in the Staff Village. Children have the freedom to walk to school and back, supervised by an adult, on a daily basis. School begins at 8am and finishes at 12pm in summer, and in winter it opens at 9am and closes at 1pm.
The Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU) is an NGO dedicated to the conservation of local wildlife and natural resources. The VFAPU protects the wildlife and natural habitat from poachers and their pressure (subsistence and commercial). It also rescues and rehabilitates animals injured by human interference.
Zambezi Crescent Collection contributes towards VFAPU’s fundraising efforts and donates on a regular (monthly) basis. Should an incident of poaching arise nearby, Zambezi Crescent Collection offers resources to aid and assist the VFAPU rangers during their rescue and rehabilitation operations.
