Victoria Falls
The Zambezi River is nearly two kilometres wide at Victoria Falls. The gorges down which the river tumbles are a haven for nature and home to several species of endangered and migratory bird species. Stunning iridescent mist which is created by the plummeting water can be seen from more than 20 kilometres away and gives rise to the delicately balanced rainforest-like ecosystem at the foot of the waterfall.
Cape Town
After looking down at the spectacular view of the city from the top of Table Mountain, take some time to explore Cape Town’s historical and cultural offerings. Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years imprisoned, is one of the capital’s most interesting destinations, providing thought-provoking and stirring tours. The Museum of Contemporary African Art gives a fascinating insight into African society today.
