Jump into Southern Africa with a journey for those that want a bit of everything. Begin with adrenaline rushes and Zambezi safaris at Victoria Falls, before moving on for incredible game viewing in the one-off landscape that is the Okavango Delta, where land and water blend endlessly. Finally, embark on cultural exploration in the breath-taking surrounds of Cape Town, where vibrant city life meets dramatic mountain and coastal scenery. This itinerary builds in luxurious accommodation and freedom to choose your activities at several locations.

  • Cruising the waters of the delta on a Mokoro canoe
  • Wildlife spotting on game drives and bush walks
  • Sampling the incredible culture in Cape Town
  • Boat cruises through the stunning Okavango
  • The drama and energy of Victoria Falls

Your adventure begins in the heart of Southern Africa, at the thundering Victoria Falls from which so much life flows. Your two nights here will give you action-packed days where you can choose to throw yourself into high-adrenaline exploits like bungee jumping, gorge swinging and white water rafting… or even swimming at the top of the falls.

If you prefer life at a slower pace, however, the upper Zambezi is just the place to relax after touring the magical falls. The broad, winding river is perfect for cruises at dawn and dusk to watch the animal life of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park congregating at its banks. There are also game drives and walking adventures through this lush UNESCO World Heritage Site that features palms and miombo woodland.

The next stop on your journey is none other than the Okavango Delta, where river and land, blues and greens, blend into a shimmering landscape replete with life. This unique location casts a spell on all who experience it, immersing them in its placid beauty and the hum of nature that is all around.

The Okavango Delta is such that it can only be truly explored via a combination of means: game drives and walking safaris over the lush grasslands and islands, and boat excursions and dugout canoe trips on the interweaving channels. These waterborne expeditions take you places you could never visit on foot, noiselessly alongside drinking animals or to the tucked-away islands of the secluded wilderness.

After three nights in the delta, it’s time to inject some energy with a visit to the cultural hub of Cape Town. This lively city throngs with culture and excitement, but don’t worry – mother nature is never far away. Flanked by the spectacular Table Mountain and impossibly blue Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town is a place that reflects the beauty of Africa wherever you are in the city.

For the culinarily adventurous, South Africa’s capital is a playground: top-quality restaurants, vineyards with a rich local terroir that produces world-class wines, and endless independent lunch and coffee joints. But the culture doesn’t end with what you can eat – art and music both flood the streets of Cape Town, with late-night jazz haunts and contemporary museums just two examples characterising the atmosphere of the city.

Victoria Falls

The Zambezi River is nearly two kilometres wide at Victoria Falls.  The gorges down which the river tumbles are home to several species of endangered and migratory bird species. The stunning iridescent mist created by the plummeting water can be seen from more than 20 kilometres away and gives rise to the delicately balanced rainforest-like ecosystem at the foot of the waterfall.

Okavango Delta

One of Africa’s seven natural wonders and a UNESCO world heritage site, the Okavango Delta is the sprawling mass of marshes, islands, channels and lagoons formed where the Okavango flows into the Kalahari basin. More than 200,000 animals migrate here from July to September, a true oasis of wildlife in the summer heat. It promises one of the richest safari experiences on earth, boasting animals from the Big Five to Nile crocodiles to abundant African wild dogs and white rhinoceros. Thousands of plant species and over 500 bird species thrive.

Cape Town

After looking down at the spectacular view of the city from the top of Table Mountain, take some time to explore Cape Town’s historical and cultural offerings. Robbin Island, where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years imprisoned, is one of the capital’s most interesting destinations, providing thought-provoking and stirring tours. The Museum of Contemporary African Art gives a fascinating insight into African society today.
