Kigali Serena Hotel

Virunga Lodge
Situated on a stunning hillside, the Virunga Safari Lodge boasts breathtaking views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the picturesque lakes of Ruhondo and Burera. During the day guides will take you on an adventure through the lush rainforest that is home to the incredible endangered Mountain Gorilla. You will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness these primates go about their normal behaviour in their natural habitat. You can also choose to be taken to observe the rare Golden Monkeys that also live amongst the lush green vegetation of the rainforest. All sightings are by a safe distance to ensure the safety of the ape families.
The luxurious Kigali Serena Hotel has an exceptional selection of 148 rooms, each fitted with a high-quality en-suite bathroom, flat-screen television, internet connectivity and a personal bar. Guests can take advantage of the hotel’s well-equipped gym, and then enjoy a professional pampering massage at the Maisha health spa. As you awake at dawn, peer outside and you will see the misty peaks of the mountains. After enjoying a hearty breakfast guests are prepped for the adventure ahead. Eventually coming across a family of Mountain Gorillas, you will have the chance to observe them in their natural habitat. Importantly all from a safe distance to ensure their behaviour isn’t compromised. After savouring every minute of observing these incredible primates, you will be returned to the Virunga Lodge. Enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, then on colder evenings retire to the cosy warmth of the indoor fireplace. Whilst staying at the lodge you can also experience hikes to the top of volcanoes; scenic walks through the picturesque villages to take in local culture; or even take a day trip to the lively towns of Kigali or Kampala.
After enjoying one last delicious breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred back to Kigali Airport in time for your outward-bound flight.
