Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia’s capital is a true melting pot of cultures. Twenty-four-hour Indian ‘mamaks’ serve up hot roti next to Malay mosques, western expats overindulge in trendy bars and shoppers hop between bustling Chinese markets and malls set amidst gleaming skyscrapers. The arts are thriving, museums are abundant, and the old world is carefully balanced against the new. Each facet of Kuala Lumpur’s kaleidoscopic society is connected to the next by an excellent public transportation system.
Penang
Known as the “Pearl of the Orient”, Penang has linked Asia, Europe and the Middle East for centuries. Famous for its incredible food and gorgeous beaches, Penang is also home to a great deal of art and history, reflected in its colonial mansions, Chinese clan houses, Hindu temples and extraordinary murals painted on alleys throughout trendy Georgetown. The northwest of the island is an uninhabited expanse of mountainous jungle, perfect for hiking.
Langkawi
Langkawi is a 100-island archipelago, a rugged beauty frequented by beach bums and nature lovers alike. Come here to relax on powdery sand beaches, swim in calm turquoise water and sip on the cheapest alcohol in the country – the whole island is duty-free. The touristy shorelines are well developed enough to be comfortable, but the interior has retained its traditional homes and lifestyle. Mountains, forest parks, hot springs and waterfalls lie to the north.
Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you will be greeted by a drive who will transfer you directly to City Centre to start a one-hour journey, experiencing an initial feeling of Malaysia. Begins at the Park Royal KL Hotel before setting off on a very short walk to a cultural institution of Kuala Lumpur, the Lot 10 Hutong food court. Here you will be introduced to the signature sweet dessert of Malaysia, an iced jelly known as Cendol.
Upon arrival at the Pasar Seni MRT station, take a short wander to Sri Maha Temple, the city’s primary Hindu temple, where you will hear how this place of worship became the centre of KL’s Indian community. Afterwards, walk through the bustling streets till you arrive at a local restaurant, specializing in roti canai, an Indian-influenced flatbread served with curry and soup. After delighting in the wonderful culmination of Indian and Malaysian cuisine, visit the century-old biscuit business, reputable for their trademark wedding cakes and traditional pastries, located in KL’s thriving Chinatown.
Sample a piece of wife or husband cookies while our guide explores the traditions of Chinese weddings. Additionally, the bakery is a great place to try some Chinese pastries. Next explore the hidden café, sample a series of hand-crafted teas and coffees, before stopping at a Kuala Lumpur street food vendor, the epitome of authentic KL cuisine. Return to MRT station and catch the train back to Bukit Bintang MRT station, where your tour guide will bid farewell.

From Bukit Bintang Station, ride the monorail up above the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur to begin your day at the Sam Kow Tong Temple. Discover the secrets of the ‘Temple of Three’ Teachings and marvel at the location as it squats amidst surrounding skyscrapers. After you delight in a light breakfast at a local coffee shop, wander onwards to the KL central station to catch a train out of the city en route to the Batu Caves.
The caves house one of Malaysia’s most important Hindu Temples within its impressive cave system, here your expert guide will help you understand the religious roots of this diverse nation. After working up an appetite in the temple, it is time to hit the streets once more to discover one of Malaysia’s favourite lunches, banana leaf food! Wander through the vibrant city of Jalan Masjid India, embracing the array of colourful goods and foods on display before sitting down to your feast.

Today, head out from your hotel on a mesmerising journey through the urban jungle of Kuala Lumpur. Take one of the fastest double-decker lifts in the world to the iconic sky bridge of Petronas Twins Tower. Admire the beauty of the city skyline from the bridge, before rising to tip of the Petronas Twins Tower for a mesmerising city view.
Later in the day visit another famous modern landmark of Kuala Lumpur, the KL Tower. Delight in a buffet lunch at the 360-degree revolving restaurant at top of the tower before being transferred to your hotel.

After spending the morning at your own leisure, you will be picked up from your hotel to get closer to Malaysia’s nature with a visit to Kuala Selangor. On the tour discover this city’s interesting history in regard to a royal burial ground and the ancient fort. Head to Kuala Selangor Nature Park at the foot of Bukit Melawati, where your guide will identify the migratory birds of Malaysia. If you’re lucky, you may spot silvered-leaf monkeys and rare species of bird and butterflies native to this region of Kuala Lumpur.
At dusk, proceed to a nearby fishing village for a seafood dinner. You will dine on the fresh catch of the day, giving you a taste of authentic Malaysian flavours. After dinner, take a short drive to Kampung Kuantan, where you will board a typical Malaysian wooden rowboat. Relax and enjoy the lush scenery as your skilled oarsmen rows upstream through the surrounding mangroves.
As you enter the darkness of the night, you will witness one of nature’s most incredible phenomena – thousands of tiny twinkling lights projected by the fireflies which swarming among the trees. As you gaze among the stars, delight in this moment of tranquillity in one of Malaysia’s most magical experiences. At the end of your trip transfer back to your hotel.

After breakfast, take a modern and comfortable train from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth. Occupy the length of the four and a half hours train journey witnessing the vibrant landscapes of South East Asia. Glimpse at the passing paddy fields, local villages, and beautiful lakes before arriving in Penang. From here relax at your hotel, preparing for another day of adventure in a new town.

On the next day, explore the rich heritage of the region while wandering the streets of Georgetown. Admire the intricate carvings, woodwork, and porcelain décor of the landmarks throughout the area, including Khoo Kongsi, Yap Kongsi, Ciji Temple and the Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple, which functioned as the Tua Pek Kong Temple and Hokkien secret society headquarters in the mid-19th century. As you continue discovering the intricate history of Malaysia, visit the world-renowned Pinang Peranakan Mansion which was a prominent community of acculturated Chinese unique to this part of the world. The mansion houses over one thousand pieces of antiques and collectible items of the era on display.

After breakfast prepare for a culinary adventure, as you explore the vibrant flavours of the regional cuisine. Tucked away in a secluded corner of the Tropical Spice Garden, the cooking school which hosts your experience is surrounded by jungle trees and wildlife, a small herb garden and a glimpse of the Andaman Sea. Under the guidance of experienced and professional chefs, each specialising in Nyonya, Malay and Indian cuisines, learn to cook local favourites such as Nasi Lemak, Assam Laksa, Chicken Tandoori and even a concoct of refreshing spice inspired beverages.

After breakfast, a driver will pick you up at the lobby for a transfer to Penang Airport. Board the short plane to the island of Langkawi. Upon arrival, the driver will transfer you to your hotel.

Explore the mangroves that inhabit the Island of Langkawi with a taste of adventure, as you start your first day in this region on a three-hour kayak trip. View a closer perspective of the ecology that thrives on the island, as you glide through the calmer bodies of water surrounded by mangroves and jungle. During the Kayaking tour you might be so lucky as to witness monkeys, snakes, eagles, otters, and other native islanders.

Spend the morning on the island at your leisure. Sip an ice-cold beer, a chilled glass of wine or sample a variety of cocktails with great company, a perfect way to end the day and start the evening. With the sun setting low in the sky and the temperature pleasantly cooling, it is an excellent time of the day for venturing out to sea. Experience the cool wind flow through your hair and listen to the sound of the waves lapping against the boat. Traversing the Andaman Sea, while viewing the many beautiful islands that emerge from the water around Langkawi, produces a feeling of excitement and tranquillity. The breath-taking sight of the tropical sun sinking into the horizon of the Andaman Sea provides a chance to witness the natural phenomena of the fabled “green flash”. End the day with a cocktail in hand and relax in the on board Jacuzzi.
