Savuti
Your adventure begins in the Savuti region. Located in Southern Botswana, it borders the Okavango Delta in the west and Chobe National Park to the east. Savuti is known to be one of Africa’s best game viewing locations with the highest population of hyenas. The region is a place of beauty and enchantment, and it boasts one of the greatest concentrations of animals in Southern Africa. The Savute Channel stretches all the way from the Linyanti River to the Savute Marsh, creating an area full of dynamic wildlife, diverse rolling grasslands and spectacular savannahs.
Tall trees and watering holes are dotted around the landscape, creating a unique and breathtaking area. The Savute Channel has been unpredictable in its nature, as it seems to flow and dry up with no relation to the wet, rainy seasons or flood levels. Enjoy an exceptional game drive along the Linyanti and Savuti, encounter some of Botswana’s largest concentration of wildlife.
Okavango Delta
The next part of your adventure will take you to the well known Okavango Delta. Spend four nights exploring the winding waterways, emerald lagoons, and overgrown islands of this breathtaking destination. The Delta is home to some of the world’s endangered species of large mammals, such as cheetahs, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dogs and lions.
The magnificent Okavango Delta is situated within the boundaries of the Moremi Game Reserve and exists as the world’s largest inland delta, exhibiting a labyrinth of deep lagoons, large lakes and hidden, meandering channels, covering an area of over 16,000 square km in flood and shrinking to less than 9,000 square km during the dry season. Trapped in the parched Kalahari sands, the fresh water oasis attracts a variety of wildlife that depends on the permanent waters of this unique wilderness. Experience a mokoro boat excursion and cruise through the channel looking at tiny reed frogs and colourful dragonflies.
Upon arrival at Maun International Airport, you will be greeted by an andBeyond representative. You will connect with a scheduled charter flight to Savuti Airstrip. Discover the beautiful Savute Channel during your stay at the lovely Savute Lodge in a luxury en-suite chalet.
Enjoy an adventurous game drive in an open 4×4 vehicle that will take you to the Savute area to view elephants, lions, zebras, hyenas and other animals. If you are intrigued by birds then you will be thrilled with the diversity of bird species in the area. End your trip by visiting the ancient San rock paintings of Gubasta Hills. At the end of a long morning head back to the lodge and relax in the pool and gaze at animals quenching their thirst at the waterhole.

Game Drives
Head out on an exciting and breathtaking game drive. In a comfortable open 4×4 safari vehicle, it is more than likely that you will see elephants, spotted hyenas, lions, cheetahs, leopards, antelopes and zebras. Many of the game drives will take you to the Savute Marsh, which will give you the opportunity to see the changeable Suite Channel; its unpredictability leading to some fascinating animals behaviour.
Enjoy a short game drive to Savuti Airstrip in time for your scheduled charter flight to Xakanaxa Airstrip. Spend the next 2 days exploring at Camp Xakanaxa in a beautiful ensuite tent. The camp is known for its spectacular game viewing.
Relax by the plunge pool and sun deck overlooking the Delta, spend your lazy days in the sun admiring the views of Khwai River and Xakanaxa Lagoon. Enjoy a motorised boat safari conducted in a powerboat, an amazing opportunity to experience game viewing from a different perspective. This adventure ensures prolific sightings of elephants, buffalos, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, kudus, lechwes, lions, leopards amongst many others. An experience not to miss out on.

Motorised Boat Safaris
Journey through some of the deeper channels of the Okavango Delta on this unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience to truly immerse yourself in the middle of this magical wetland. Glide along the waters in a hard bottom aluminium boat as the professionally licensed guide will take you on a mesmerising journey. Keep your eyes on the banks of the channels for colourful reed frogs, wading birds, and elephants cooling off.
Game Drives
Take part in the quintessential safari experience and travel through the expanses of the Moremi Game Reserve in an open 4×4 safari vehicle where you will encounter some of Africa’s most revered and majestic creatures. Morning and afternoon game drives provide the opportunity to photograph meandering elephant herds, lion prides, kudu, giraffe, cheetah, buffalo, and numerous other staples of safari wildlife.
Bird Watching
With over 450 species of indigenous bird species calling the skies above – and the trees of – the Okavango Delta home birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike will marvel at the excellent bird watching conditions. November to March is the optimum time for birders as these are the migration months and many birds breed at this time of year.
After breakfast, you will embark on a short game drive to Xakanaxa Airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Xugana Airstrip. Upon arrival at Xugana Airstrip you will enjoy a short boat transfer to your accommodation situated on a remote island.
Relax in the boma while savouring a mouth watering meal in the outdoor dining area as you admire the view of the lagoon. Discover the beautiful surroundings of the island on a nature walk. Explore the expansive wetland by embarking on motorised boat safari or mokoro (a traditional dugout canoe) as you glide through the channel, spotting brightly coloured birds, secretive antelopes and leaping frogs amongst other animals. Game drives are one of the best ways to explore Okavango Delta as it allows you to view wildlife such as lions, elephants, sitatungas, leopards and other animals roaming around the Delta right before your eyes.

Water Excursions
Motorised boat safaris are available from the lodge, allowing you to explore some deeper channels and lagoons of the delta, whilst keeping an eye out for hippos or Nile crocodiles. For a more laid back water excursion, traditional mokoro trips are available where you can glide through the meandering waterways looking out for colourful dragonflies or small reed frogs. Fishing for bream is available seasonally, with fishing equipment available at the lodge.
Game Drives
Head out on a game drive through the wilderness of the delta, exploring the islands and looking out for sightings of leopards, giraffes, lions, wild dogs, and herds of zebras undisturbed and in their natural environment. Night time game drives are available for those who want to experience the delta once the sun has set, and watch as the nocturnal species come out to play.
Guided Bush Walks
Immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings on a guided walk. Follow your trained guide who will be able to educate you about the micro-ecosystems of the delta and point out tracks and insect life the untrained eye may pass by. View wildlife from a safe distance or look to the tree tops for some amazing bird-watching opportunities.

Visits to Botswana involve flights on light aircraft with limited baggage space. Luggage is usually limited to a total of 20 kgs per person including hand luggage and one small, soft-sided bag as hold luggage.
