andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp

Situated within the renowned Kruger National Park, andBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserve hosts a large population of stunning wildlife, with exceptional encounters. Experienced guides employ sensitive off-roading practices to get even closer to elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalo, leopards, spotted hyenas, giraffes and more. Take advantage of this unparalleled safari with morning and afternoon game drives and follow local experts on bushwalking expeditions.

The camp consists of ingeniously designed tented suites on stilts, built into the existing treescape with minimal environmental impact. These nine intimate living spaces offer private viewing decks as well as a lap pool where guests can cool off and be absorbed by their surroundings. The resident family of macaques typify the camp’s proximity to nature, while dining under the stars in the sandy Timbavati riverbed lets you appreciate a lesser-known side of the bush’s beauty. Luxury and nature coexist at Ngala, with a massage sala and exquisite private lunch platters affording you a truly indulgent escape.

Explore the gorgeous landscape and freshwater lagoons inland on a horse safari. Take in an exquisite castaway picnic and cap off a romantic day with a sunset dhow cruise. Your luxury casinha, nestled beneath the shade of the indigenous forest, offers outdoor showers, a view of the tropical garden and all manner of ways to relax on the sand – including a beach bar.

andBeyond Ngala Private Reserve
Ngala was the first private reserve to be incorporated into the world-famous Kruger National Park, thanks to andBeyond’s acclaimed conservation policies. The reserve directly supports the expansion of several high biodiversity regions in South Africa in partnership with WWF SA and the SanParks Trust. Sustainability is at the core of how andBeyond run things, and Ngala work with neighbouring communities, employing locally and contributing to education, healthcare and small business development. Eliminating plastic waste and saving energy are core practices at the camp.

andBeyond Benguerra Island
The island’s solar lamp initiative offers a fantastic resource to communities without electricity and can be supported by purchasing a lamp for distribution on the island. The gorgeous reefs provide homes for turtles, sharks and hundreds of tropical fish. Aside from being situated in a protected marine reserve, andBeyond Benguerra island has numerous appearances in lists of the best luxury escapes in publications such as Condé Nast Traveller and the Daily Telegraph.
