Tarangire National Park
Tarangire has the second highest concentration of wildlife of any Tanzanian national park and is reportedly the largest concentration of elephants in the world. The evocative baobab-studded landscape has excellent bird watching, with over 550 species in the park, the most breeding species in a habitat anywhere in the world. The rolling savannahs and acacia woodlands offer an inspiring array of wildlife.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa’s paramount attractions containing a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. Hosting the highest density of both lions and overall predators in Africa, the game viewing is unsurpassed. The abundance of wildlife is largely due to the presence of water, both from the permanent springs that sustain the swamp, permanent streams and rivers fed by runoff from the crater rim forests.
Serengeti National Park
Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a World Heritage site and a Seven Natural Wonder of the World. Encompassing the Serengeti ecosystem are the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Maswa Game Reserve, the Loliondo, Grumeti and Ikorongo controlled areas and the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. It is the Great Migration for which Serengeti is the most famous.
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and assisted by a representative. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha arriving in time for check-in. The rest of the day is spent at leisure at Hamerkop House to enjoy the pool and villa facilities. All meals are excluded.
After breakfast, rejoin your safari driver guide and drive to the Eastern edge of Tarangire National Park arriving at Lemala Mpingo Ridge in time for lunch. After a rest and maybe a siesta you will head out on an afternoon safari game drive. Game drives are within Tarangire National Park which hosts among other species Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Warthog, Eland, the Fringe-eared Oryx, Lesser and Greater Kudu, Gerenuk, and large numbers of Impala. On your return, you will be able to recap with your guide the wildlife you have experienced over evening dinner. The following day will be a full-day experience in Tarangire National Park with extended game drives.
After breakfast commence a drive to The Ngorongoro Conservation area. On arrival at the Lemala Ngorongoro Camp, you will collect lunch boxes and immediately commence the drive to the floor of the crater for an insightful tour. Quite possibly the most famous of all Africa’s conservation areas, this is one of the places where you stand a good chance of seeing the Big 5. The enduring charm of Ngorongoro stems from its overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident here. Later you will return to your camp for the evening and dinner.
After breakfast, you will check out and head to the Serengeti National Park, undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere. Arrive for lunch at your camp and then in the afternoon, you will head out on your first game drive into the Serengeti National Park until sunset. An optional early morning balloon ride with champagne-style breakfast can be arranged upon request at an additional cost. A full day is spent in Serengeti with scheduled morning and late afternoon game drives or if you wish to stay in the park you can opt for a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes from the camp.
Depending on the movement of wildlife and availability, we will be able to offer either Lemala Mara, Lemala Ndutu or remain at Lemala Ewanjan. The migration activities will move during the following months so it is important to be located nearby the camp where activity is highest.
December to March – Lemala Ndutu
April, June & November to 15th December – Lemala Ewanjan
July to October – Lemala Mara.
All mobile tented accommodation is a luxury tented experience getting you to the heart of the wildlife.
