Experience Africa’s breath-taking biodiversity as you journey from the lush Maasai Mara to the stunning Serengeti National Park. Follow in the wake of millions of wildebeest on the path of the great migration before drinking in the breathtakingly unique sights of Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. This is an adventure of pure safari across some of Africa’s most diverse and richly wildlife-populated landscapes.

  • Incredible game viewing in Maasai Mara and Serengeti National Parks
  • Standing at the edge of the earth on the rim of the world’s largest intact caldera
  • Exceptional wildlife photography opportunities in the Maasai Mara National Park
  • Interacting with staff and local communities alike

This is a classic Safari in some of the best places on earth for game viewing and with some of the most jaw-dropping scenery, you’ll ever experience. Begin your journey in the undulating hills of the Maasai Mara and witness the Great Migration of vast wildebeest herds – a sight like no other! The park is home to an exceptional year-round concentration of wildlife, providing pulse-racing game drives encountering the likes of the Big Five and many others. These include night safaris where you’ll get the rare chance to witness the Maasai Mara’s nocturnal inhabitants.

AndBeyond Bateleur camp provides an intimate and luxurious setting, offering tents with fine antiques and handcrafted artefacts – as well as a private butler and housekeeper. Relax in the lap pool, dine on delectable dishes served under the stars and gain a personal understanding of your environment from the experienced local guides.

Follow the wildebeest over the border to Tanzania for your next stop, Lake Manyara National Park. Natural beauty takes on a new meaning in this environment shared by glimmering lakes, dense woodland and dramatic mountains. Witness flamingos on the shores of Soda Lake, track down the park’s tree-climbing lions and feel the earth rumble beneath the great herds of elephants that roam here. Aside from day and night game drives, your stay offers a guided bike ride through the scenic Mayoka community, giving you the chance to interact with locals and perhaps even meet the nomadic Mang’ati tribe.

Experience true proximity to your surroundings staying in a treehouse cradled by ancient mahogany boughs at andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. These stilted suites have en suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and private viewing decks to make the most of the sweeping views. Delight in the interactive kitchen and take part in making delicious pan-African meals to be enjoyed in the boma or on your own dining deck. You’ll even have the chance to learn how to build a fire from two sticks from a Maasai warrior! When it’s time to relax, soak in the crystal pool and let the sounds of the forest carry you away.

Next, you’ll set off for Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, overlooking the incredible view of the caldera from its rim. You may be tempted to pinch yourself, but this vast, lush crater landscape is real – and andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge offers the best spot to view it from. Make the most of your time here exploring the land on hikes and game drives. Giant tusked elephants roam the forest while the lion is king of the grassland. The swirling mists over the caldera make it easy to feel as though you’ve entered another world. The lodge is just as unique, showcasing luxurious baroque French style, flourished with local influences. This is a romantic stay in a sumptuous camp boasting magnificent suites and dining halls. Learn to create beadwork with a Maasai teacher, watch the resident zebra drink from the tap or explore lion conservation with KopeLion.

The final stop on this African adventure is the Serengeti National Park, home to the millions of wildebeests that migrate in search of food every year. andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is set on the banks of a tributary of the Grumeti River. Not only is this a secluded, uncrowded part of the Serengeti, offering exclusivity on game drives, but its riverine location hosts an impressive range of wildlife including pods of hippos just a stone’s throw from the camp, rare colobus monkeys and very large prides of lions.

Near to a famous fording point where Wildebeest cross the Grumeti, the majestic Victoria Lake can also be visited. Your camp offers rustic sophistication, allowing guests to enjoy riverside meals beneath the shade and romantic sundowners on Masira hill. Every tent looks out onto the river, with a private viewing deck and stone tower shower. Between exploring this incredible park’s wildlife, soaking up the tranquil environment in your downtime and perhaps even experiencing the thrill of a hot air balloon ride, you won’t want to leave.

andBeyond Bateleur Camp

Sustainability is at the heart of what andBeyond do. They employ locally and invest with the Africa Foundation in education and healthcare. The camp doesn’t use plastic bottles and grows its own vegetables, with honey that comes from a Maasai women’s group. In this exclusive area of the Maasai Mara, interact with andBeyond’s staff, many of whom are from local communities.

andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

The lodge’s nine treehouse suites were made with minimal environmental impact as a focus, constructed from local timber and makuti palm fronds. The lodge centres’ connection with nature and sustainable practices, such as dining on locally produced foods (including delicious fresh smoothies and juices). Lake Manyara National Park supports a wide variety of habitats with nine rivers, giving rise to a symphony of species to be found.

andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Conservation is ever-important in this beautiful UNESCO world heritage site. Endangered black rhinos walk the caldera and guests can gain an understanding of lion conservation efforts with the KopeLion team. The Olduvai Gorge, within the plains of the crater, is known by some as the cradle of human existence and has provided scientists with critical information about humans’ early evolution.

andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp

The Serengeti National Park, meaning “endless plains”, covers an incredible 14,800km² on Tanzania’s northern border with Kenya. The Great Migration is a spectacle that has to be seen to be truly understood – two million wildebeest, as well as hundreds of thousands of gazelle and zebra (and their predators), travel the land in search of pasture and water in a phenomenon that is unparalleled anywhere else in the world. The animals cover more than 1000 kilometres over the year. This park hosts an incredible range of ecosystems and a rich array of wildlife.
