The Fiji Marriott focuses heavily on the reforestation of mangroves to ensure the protection of the coastlines by preventing erosion. Guests can participate and help the planting and well-being of the mangroves. The mangroves also provide an abundance of feeding habitats for marine life.
Guests can also participate in coral planting by aiding in the transfer of coral fragments to a frame, which are then taken by experts and placed in the water. The regeneration of coral reefs is vital to combat the looming threat of climate change, pollution and habitat loss.
The resort’s interactive reseeding program aims to restock the reef with Giant Clams whilst educating guests about the sheer importance of them towards our ecosystem.
The Sea Turtle conservation initiative aims to support the protection of nesting grounds, turtle tagging and research to help with the well being and safety of the much loved indigenous Fijian Sea Turtle.
