Baa Atoll Island, 20215 Finolhus, Maldives

The resort itself is surrounded by clear blue waters and sandy beaches in the heart of the Baa Atoll. The small island is cut off from the rest of the Maldives and provides guests with complete privacy during their stay. Guests can arrive by seaplane to the island resort or take a domestic flight and speedboat ride to the resort. Both are scenic journeys to get to the secluded island.

Treetop Pool Villa

The treetop pool villa rests high above the ground between coconut palm trees and lush vegetation. With its own freshwater pool guests can luxuriate in complete privacy. With air conditioning, hardwood floors and its own seating area indoors as well as outdoors you’ll be experiencing both the natural elements of the island without compromising luxury.

You’ll have an outdoor dining area for evenings in entertaining and early mornings are made even more beautiful since the room rests 12 metres high with a balcony and terrace to look out onto. Your private bathroom has a hairdryer, bath or shower, a bathrobe and complimentary toiletries. Other amenities of this villa include a minibar, TV, ironing facilities, air conditioning and coffee machine. The room accommodates up to 4 adults.

Beach Residence 4 Bedrooms

This 4 bedroom residence can accommodate up to 10 adults (2 of which can be children) and looks out onto the sandy beach. With access to a butler, a housemaster and an on-call chef, you can truly luxuriate. The residence has a private beachfront courtyard that extends to the beach and if you want to stay in the villa itself you’ll still have both a pool view and a sea view to admire.

Facilities include air conditioning, a safety deposit box, minibar, TV and both a seating and dining area for nights of entertaining. Other amenities include a private pool, outdoor furniture, a barbecue, oven, coffee machine and a terrace to admire the view from. The bathroom includes a hairdryer, bathrobe and free toiletries.

Lagoon Water Pool Villa 2 Bedrooms

The Lagoon Villa Accommodates up to 4 adults and 2 children and overlooks the Indian Ocean, giving you direct access. With a private pool, balcony and a terrace, you can luxuriate and enjoy the views on offer. The outdoor furniture and dining area is perfect for nights in at the villa when entertaining.

The villa also features a private entrance as well as a private bathroom for each bedroom that includes free toiletries, towels, bathrobe and a hairdryer. An outdoor shower is also included. Other amenities include a TV, minibar, air conditioning, coffee machine, sofa, safety deposit box and a desk.

The Amilla Estate 6 Bedrooms

Hidden amongst the foliage, this estate rests along the shoreline so you’re never too far from the ocean. The open layout of the estate invites both the breeze and light throughout, with both a balcony and a terrace you’ll be able to take in the unobstructed views. With a family-sized dining table you’ll be able to entertain everyone in the villa along with the help of a dedicated butler and a chef that’s provided.

Other facilities of this villa include a refrigerator, minibar, air conditioning, a safety deposit box, TV, sofa and a barbecue. Amenities also include free toiletries in your private bathroom, as well as a hairdryer, spa bath, bathrobes and towels.

The Great Beach Residence 8 Bedrooms

The villa can accommodate up to 24 adults (16 adults and 8 children) which makes it perfect for extended families or groups travelling together. You’ll have ocean views from your bedroom and your own private Jacuzzi, including a 20-metre pool to luxuriate in. An enclosed garden courtyard is perfect for entertaining with its own pool table on the patio and dining table surrounded by palm trees.

The private kitchen has its own refrigerator, oven and kitchenware for entertaining and other features of the residence include a minibar, safety deposit box, ironing facilities, air conditioning, TV, barbecue and a tea/coffee maker. Amenities in the private bathroom include free toiletries, bath or shower, hairdryer, bathrobe and towels. All the luxuries are provided so that guests can enjoy the curated residence in all its glory.

Whilst the villas have their own kitchen and personal chef on hand for nights of entertaining there are also a host of options at the resort should you choose to leave your residence. So many are within walking distance and feature both local produce and fresh ingredients. If you wish to stay in your villa however, home delivery can be arranged so you can enjoy any dish from any of the restaurants whenever you please.

Providore Restaurant

Providore allows you to customise your meal to your personal preferences however you would like. Choose from an extensive grocery list and the chefs can whip up a meal to suit you. The list includes a wide variety of premium meats, seafood and cheeses to enjoy.

Feeling Koi Restaurant

This over water dining experience can be accessed via a speedboat, seaplane or just a simple stroll along the jetty. You can enjoy the flavours of Japan, France and Mexico whilst gazing at the Indian Ocean and watching the chefs prepare the meals in an open kitchen. It’s a perfect option for the whole family and adults can indulge in pre-dinner cocktails at the bar first with a view of the beautiful sunset.

Sunset Bar

Situated in the overwater restaurant Feeling Koi this bar offers cocktails, wines and premium sakes to enjoy. The rooftop gives you a beautiful view of the sunset and downstairs there is a lounge bar that provides dessert, more drinks and a live DJ as entertainment.

The Baazaar

The Baazaar is an array of restaurants and bars that fan out from the huge infinity pool. It’s both a social hub and fun culinary experience with options such as Joe’s Pizza, Fresh and Baralo Grill. Each of these spots have a distinct décor and menu but have a common lunch menu. Sit anywhere you like, be it inside the restaurant or on the sand.

There is also a Wellness Café that offers salads, wraps and cold dishes and a Fish and Chips Shop is now located there too.

The Wine Shop and Cellar Door

This is the perfect spot for wine lovers as it houses over 250 labels from around the world. With a capacity for 8,000 bottles you’ll be able to participate in curated wine tastings or even host your own. This is accompanied by charcuterie and artisanal cheeses to elevate the experience.

The Emperor General Store

This deli and café offers fresh fruit, baked goods, preserves and artisanal treats for guests to choose from. You can even order from the comfort of your own residence. You’re welcome to pop in for a freshly brewed coffee or ice cream and there are sandwiches and salads available at the lunch bar. Eat with the comfort of air conditioning or take your food down to the beach and bask in the view.

With activities to suit any occasion and all types of visitors there will be entertainment for every guest at the island. Take just a half an hour seaplane journey from Male International Airport or a combined domestic flight and speedboat ride to arrive in paradise.

Spa and Wellness

Inspired by the natural environment, Javvu Spa offers an escape that caters to both the mind and the body. The spa menu allows you to tackle many aspects of health with a focus on three pillars of wellness: movement, spirituality and spa. The holistic therapies and workshops pair well with fitness classes such as yoga and Pilates. The spa is designed so that you can appreciate the natural elements and views of the Maldives.

There are ten private spa treatment pods and each have their own outdoor seating area and shower. Inside you’ll find a shower, sauna, steam chamber and a treatment room for massages. Bathtubs are also available to relax in at the spa as well as two beach-edge plunge pools. There is also a barber, hair stylist, nail bar, gym and training studio.

Water Sports

Guests at the island resort will be able to choose from a wide range of water sports such as windsurfing, wake boarding, jet skiing and parasailing. Guests can also snorkel at whatever level of experience they have or even go kayaking. Private tours of the Atoll are also available for those who want to charter a captained speedboat. There is bound to be a wide variety for families, as well as couples.

Excursions

The island resort’s underwater biosphere runs a programme that brings guests on weekly excursions to witness and learn about the marine life of the Baa Atoll. Options include dolphin watching, turtle safari, manta snorkelling, speedboat stargazing, sunrise fishing and even a full moon cruise. Guests of all ages will be able to find something to suit their interests and curiosities.

Diving

The island resort has its own underwater biosphere for guests to learn how to dive at. Home to a team of 15 marine conservationists and diving professionals, guests of all levels can go below the surface and witness the array of marine life that calls the Baa Atoll its home. You can book a private session or join a group; the choice is yours.

Kids Club

Perfect for families, the Sultan’s Village Kids club is a dedicated space at the island resort with its own playground, shallow pool and fenced sand garden. Kids can also go into the clubhouse that is full of toys, books and games as well as participate in activities scheduled by the staff.

They can make their own pizzas, participate in treasure hunts and even take snorkelling trips with the resident marine biologist and learn about the marine life below the surface.

Amilla Glamping

The island resort offers guests the chance to sleep under the stars. Secluded amongst the jungle foliage you’ll be able to sleep in waterproof and climate-controlled inflatable pods to immerse in and appreciate the nature. With access to bathrooms, showers, a steam room and a plunge pool, this is the perfect experience for couples.

Organic and Local Garden

Amilla Fushi is already home to its own organic garden of locally grown produce which it intends on expanding. Producing food locally allows Amilla to lower their carbon footprint and food miles as well as eliminate the amount of packaging that is wasted by importing food.

Homemade Produce

The island resort reduces its carbon footprint and packaging waste by creating natural spa products, sodas, probiotics and kombucha on the island as part of the ‘homemade project’.

The Technical and Vocational Education Centre

Established in 2017 by the Coastline Foundation, this education centre trains both Maldivian adults and youths with no formal education or skills for employment opportunities that centre on sustainability. The programme aims to contribute to economic growth of the Maldives and programmes are designed to cater to the needs of local industries.

It has a heavy focus on ensuring women are also represented fairly in this foundation, affording them equal opportunities.

Water Bottling Plant

The island is home to its own water bottling plant to provide all guests with fresh water, eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles that ultimately end up in landfill or the ocean.

Sustainability Manager

Amilla Fushi has also appointed itself a Sustainability manager to become a leading innovator for sustainable tourism. Working with Amilla Fushi since 2020 she has been developing eco initiatives to reduce the resort’s environmental impact and educate guests on how to make greener lifestyle choices.

Marine Conservation

Due to its beautiful location on the Baa Atoll the island resort is committed to marine conservation as it is what makes the Maldives so desirable. The island is home to 15 on-site marine biologists and dive experts to both educate the tourists and give them access to the teeming marine life below the surface.

Parley For the Oceans

Parley for the Oceans are an initiative that works to address major threats that the ocean and its ecosystem face. The island works closely with them to fight plastic ocean waste by banning the use of plastic straws and using refillable ceramic containers for bathroom amenities. Re-fillable glass bottles from an on-site reverse osmosis plant are also a main way that the island is ensuring that it lowers its plastic use and litter.

Children are welcome at the island resort and have access to a kids club and a host of activities
