Enjoy a snorkelling trip to a nearby reef, while you explore the crew will be on the lookout for pods of silvery, glistening Bottlenose Dolphins which regularly glide through these waters. From July to November each year, the majestic Humpback whales come and visit on their annual migration. Guests can set sail in search of these beautiful creatures and observe them in their natural habitat. Whale watching is conducted from the comfort of the snorkelling boat, observe the whales blowing, breaching, lob tailing and frolicking. In the later part of the season guests may be lucky enough to encounter the new-borns as they learn to breach and play.

Explorers looking for a one-of-a-kind luxury African eco-experience can now combine a Mozambican tropical beach and diving holiday with an exciting bush safari – all in the same place – making the most out of their precious holiday time.

Located just 100km South of Maputo, Maputo Special Reserve is one of 36 biodiversity hotspots identified worldwide. After a spot of breakfast and cup of coffee, Safari goers will meet their ranger before heading out to the Maputo Special Reserve Trip – Maputo Elephant Reserve, which forms part of the Lebombo Transfrontier Conservation Area. Here, you will see a variety of African antelope species, rich birdlife and possibly the rare black-backed jackal – and of course, there is a great chance of seeing elephants. A light packed breakfast is enjoyed in the reserve, most usually overlooking Lake Hlunguti. The duration of the trip is around 5 hours, starting in the early hours of the morning.

Guests can join the Onsite Rangers for an eco-experience. Engage in gripping stories about the history and mythology of Mozambique whilst encountering some traditional ways of life and an abundance of native flora and fauna.

Lake Mamoli Guided Exploration Walk

This trail is a sanctuary for over 433 butterfly species, 3 of which are endemic to Mozambique. On this route, walkers will observe traditional local fishing methods, using all natural resources. Furthermore, they will encounter a variety of different tree and scrub species that act as a habitat for various small species such as small reptiles, amphibians, birds and small mammals and even some inland marine crab species.

Guided Rocky Shore Experience

The guided rocky shore walk features a story telling component that engages mythology. This experience is for guests who are passionately curious about the little things in life and want to learn more about how animals have adapted to thrive in this constantly changing environment. Rock exploration footwear is necessary for this route, and is provided at the activities centre.
