The rich history that Sri Lanka is fascinating, facing invasion from the Portuguese, Dutch, and British before finally gaining independence in 1948. While in Sri Lanka, you will explore all that it has to offer from Wilpattu National Park, Kalpitiya Lagoon Tour, Anuradhapura by bike, Dambulla Cave Temples, Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a cultural village tour, Polonnaruwa city tour, Minneriya National Park visit, a walking tour of Kandy, and a visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. You can also enjoy a cultural performance in Kandy, the train ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya, visit tea plantations and a tea experience, as well as the Horton Plains Trek, World’s End, Ravana Ella, Nine Arch Bridge, a Jeep safari at Yala National Park, a visit to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, a walking tour of the Galle fort at sunset and the Colombo Street Food Tour.

Arrive in Sri Lanka and be welcomed by our chauffeur at the airport. Afterwards, proceed to Kalpitiya which is approximately three and half hours away. Check in at the hotel to spend the day at your leisure. The following morning, enjoy breakfast at the resort and proceed to Wilpattu National Park to take part in a jeep safari. Look out for stunning wildlife and birdlife before taking a boat ride on the lagoon. Return to the resort and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
During this time of leisure, you can visit the Kalitiya fort which is a 17th Century Dutch fort. You can also visit Kalpitiya beach and Alankuda beach and spend the rest of the day relaxing. You will be staying in Dolphin Beach Resort which has air conditioning, room service and a safe within the room.
Enjoy breakfast at the resort and proceed to Anuradhapura, which is approximately 2 hours away, to take part in a tour of the ancient city with visits to the remains of majestic Anuradhapura. At the dawn of Sri Lankan civilisation, this was one of the greatest cities of its age, and home of The Sacred Bo Tree where the Buddha was believed to have reached enlightenment. Afterwards, proceed to Dambulla (roughly an hour and a half long journey) and visit the cave temples of Dambulla. Check in at the hotel to spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Depart early in the morning with a packed breakfast to climb and shoot one of the island’s most spectacular sights, the 5th-century rock fortress of Sigiriya, a site of ancient temples and palaces. Afterwards, take part in a tour of a nearby rural village. Return to the hotel, perhaps enjoy an Ayurvedic treatment, and spend the rest of your evening at leisure.
Polonnaruwa & Minneriya Visits
On the final day in this region, having gotten your first taste of Sri Lanka’s illustrious history in Anuradhapura, make the trip to its second capital, the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, for a look at some of the island’s most dazzling ruins from its next significant era. Afterwards, visit the Minneriya National Park to take part in a jeep safari. Finally, make your way to the hotel and spend the rest of your evening at leisure.
Journey south today out of the arid drylands and up into the lush green jungle to the magical city of Kandy the Hill Capital of Sri Lanka and the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kingdom. This journey will last approximately 3 hours. Afterwards, continue to your hotel in Kandy and enjoy a city tour after checking in. During the afternoon, pay a visit to the Temple of the Tooth and spend the evening in the city centre, close to the temple, watching an unforgettable show photographing Traditional Kandyan Dancers with all their vibrant colours.
After an early breakfast, you will travel on a train up those verdant green hills that surround Kandy and venture further into Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and magical region, the Hill Country, and proceed to the quiet town of Nuwara Eliya. With its cool air, magnificent waterfalls, and thriving tea culture, the enchanting allure of these hills has to be seen to be believed. The drive to Sri Lanka’s ‘Little England’ is a highlight of any trip to Sri Lanka and this is a drive where you will want to have your camera ready!
You will take winding roads through the gorgeously lush plantations, past tea bushes trimmed by regular picking that look like green sculptures stretching up and down the misty hills as far as the eye can see. Photograph the 300ft shimmering cascade of Ramboda Falls as you make your way to a tea plantation for a tea experience.
Arrive in Nuwara Eliya and continue to the hotel to check in. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, shooting pictures of your surroundings, or with a cup of tea in your hand, enjoying the pleasant change in temperature.
The following morning, enjoy breakfast at the resort and proceed to Horton Plains for a trek. Return to the hotel and spend the day at leisure. During this time, you can choose to explore Lover’s Leap and Seetha Amman temple. Please note that all expenses are the responsibility of the guests.
After enjoying breakfast at the resort, move on to visit Ravana Falls and the Nine Arch Bridge, two of the most photographed locations in the highlands. Then take the approximately 5-hour journey to Yala. Finally, check in at the hotel to spend the next 2 days at leisure and on games drives.
After enjoying breakfast at the resort, move on to visit Horton Plains treks and World’s Ends where you can take photos. Where you will take the approximately 3 hours journey to Galle. Finally, check in at the hotel and spend time at leisure.
Enjoy breakfast at the resort and then take the 2-hour journey to Colombo. After checking in at the hotel, you will be free to do so as you wish before ending the day with a street food tour of Colombo. During your time at leisure in the capital city, you can explore on your own, visit the beach and soak up the sun, visit the Dutch period museum which is a 17th- century museum or visit the Viharamahadevi park which is known for its beautiful landscape. Please note that all excursion and leisure time activity costs throughout the whole trip are at the expense of the customer.
Proceed to the airport for departure after a memorable stay in our island home.
