Highlights

Activities

Boating

Seasonally available at Duba Plains Camp is boating, this is due to the nature of the delta’s water levels, but can usually be enjoyed between May and October – and is a highly recommended activity. Explore some of the larger channels of water as you glide through the sparkling matrix of waterways. This excursion will leave you with a true appreciation of the size of the delta, and also offers great opportunities for photography. Keep your eyes peeled to the banks where you may see wading birds, or a pod of lazy hippos lounging, visible only by their heads poking out the surface.

Guided Walks

The moment you leave the camp you will find yourself in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Immerse yourself in the surroundings and explore the extraordinary landscapes on your own two feet. With no engine noises you can appreciate the silence of the bushveld, and can reach places the safari cruise cannot reach. Walks are led by trained guides who will keep you at a safe distance from any animals at all times. Your guides can teach you to recognise different animal tracks. Early morning or late afternoon walks are advised to avoid the heat of the day.

Fishing

Spend the afternoon unwinding on a relaxing fishing trip on the Okavango Delta’s waterways with a trained guide. Reel in bream, bass, and tigerfish. Fishing is on a strict catch-and-release basis, and is temporarily suspended in January and February.

Game Drives

Duba Plains Camp has their own specially designed safari vehicles which are designed to travel across the wetlands of the Okavango Delta. Bring the camera provided in your tent for this experience, and try to capture the perfect shot. Choose the time of your game drive to suit your wishes, head out in the morning to experience the bush waking up, head out for a full day for maximum game viewing, or head out in the evening for the nocturnal species waking up for the night.
