Preferred Hotels is also a partner to Wine To Water, a non-profit organisation founded by Doc Hendley that works to provide communities with access to clean water.

Preserving Peter Island

Peter Island spans 1800 acres, but in order to preserve the natural beauty of the island, only 300 acres have been developed. This maintains the natural landscape and prevents damage to wildlife habitats. Additionally, the resort is working to minimise its impact on the environment by reducing its carbon emissions.

‘A reverse osmosis water purification plant and the first windmill generators in the British Virgin Islands were installed to minimize the island’s carbon footprint, along with a greywater irrigation system and extensive recycling program.’
