Governors Camp is the first camp in Africa to become a permanent tented camp. Your time at Governors Main Camp will consist of exploring the Maasai Mara in a fully equipped 4×4 safari vehicle, accompanied by qualified guides and drivers who will ensure guests receive the most authentic safari experience. Your journey through the renowned Maasai Mara will be unforgettable, as you encounter some of Kenya’s iconic wildlife, such as lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, zebras giraffes, wildebeests and many more.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is home to over 400 different bird species, including raptors, vultures, kori bustards and Narina trogons. The stunning birdlife is most prolific during Kenya’s green season (November to May), when the vegetation is lush and overgrown. The diverse landscape of the Maasai Mara is ideal for many different species as birds are able to access both the river, trees and plains. The dry season begins around June, as the flora dies up and the game congregates around the river and waterholes. Herds of elephant, giraffe, zebra and buffalo will gather together, providing incredible game viewing and luring in predators such as lions and cheetahs.

Late September/October sees the return of the Great Wildebeest Migration. Millions of wildebeest will chase their dwindling food supply from Serengeti to the Maasai Mara. During their 1800 mile journey, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest will perish. They must evade predators along the open plains, and avoid crocodiles lurking in treacherous rivers. An andBeyond representative will be waiting for your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Once you have been greeted by your representative, you will be escorted to Wilson airport in time for your scheduled charter flight to Maasai Mara Airstrip.

Experience a safari trip like never before, and indulge in an all-inclusive 3-night stay at Governors Main Camp. Your stay includes a luxury tent, welcome drink (purified water), laundry and airstrip transfers.

Day 1 – 3

Once you have indulged in a delicious breakfast, your day will consist of exhilarating game drives around the Maasai Mara. This activity will be led by qualified guides and drivers, who will ensure you receive the most authentic safari experience possible.

You will be exploring the Maasai Mara in a fully equipped 4×4 safari vehicle. Search for the elusive and iconic African wildlife residents, that lay hidden within the bush or guarded by the safety of their heard out on the endless plains. You will likely encounter the legendary Big Five – lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. You will also be given the opportunity to capture some fantastic photos, of the animals in their natural habitats. If you are really lucky, you may even get to experience some live-action drama as predators chase their prey, and each species battles to survive.

Make your trip extra special by taking a hot air balloon safari around the Maasai Mara, immersing yourself in all the beautiful sights and landscapes. You can also take advantage of peaceful fishing expeditions, which are available upon request (please note these activities require an additional cost).; It’s time to say goodbye and prepare for your travel arrangements home. Once you have filled up on breakfast, an andBeyond representative will drive you to the Maasai Mara Airstrip in time for your flight to Wilson Airport. When you arrive at Wilson Airport, an andBeyond representative will be waiting to drive you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your flight home.
