“Developed in 2013, the Think Green Initiative run by the Eastern and Oriental Hotel Group is a community education programme, that teaches children and young people about the importance of sustainability. With its own food garden, with the inclusion of a composting site to reduce food wastage, the Penang community is encouraged to consider their impact on the local environment. Partnering with local schools, the 4-acre garden acts an an outdoor classroom for the local children to learn about the importance of being green. The Think Green initiative is vital for the local community as it ensures that Penang and its children go on to be sustainable.”
