4 Rivers Floating Lodge is at one with the natural order and engages the local community in promoting and fostering the soft tread of an environmentally aware footprint. The lodge offers an immersive experience for its guests whereby accommodation includes tented villas which float on the Tatai river. Each of the 12 tented villas is furnished and decorated with top-quality materials that bring a whole new meaning to luxury in nature. Guests can enjoy all of the comforts they would expect from a world-class resort, including a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and a minibar. 4 Rivers Floating Lodge resides on the banks of the Tatai River, surrounded by the magnificent Cardamom Mountains, a vast mountain range located in the Southwest of Cambodia. The Koh Kong region of Cambodia contains some most mystical nature landmarks in all of the nation from the long flowing rivers and spectacular waterfalls.

The 4 River Floating Lodge present the most unique of accommodation, welcoming travellers the opportunity to stay in a floating tent villas – or on land tents – tucked into the banks of the river. A glamping experience unlike another, wake and fall asleep to magnificent panoramic views of the river and forest and even take a refreshing morning dip into the Tatai River.

Floated Tented Villas

Everything in the tents are carefully designed with the aim of protecting the environment and sustaining the region’s natural resources. Local materials are used in the tents handcrafted furniture. From toothbrushes to a clever wastewater treatment system everything helps half the resorts carbon footprint. The African-inspired safari tents are built on a pontoon. They were the first floating tents in the world and a unique glamping destination. The tents include lush carpets and large windows, each 45 sqm spacious tent comes fully equipped with modern amenities.

On-Land Family Tents

The resorts on-land family tents are situated on the riverbank- 5-10 meters from the water. At 65sqm, they are a more spacious and child-friendly version of the floating tents. The spacious tented main room has carpets and ventilated windows. There are two bedrooms, with a large en-suite, bathroom with a walk-in shower. The same as the resorts floating tents, each family tent comes equipped with all modern amenities and eco-friendly furniture made from Hyacinth a plant that is plentiful and durable in Cambodia.

Cambodian Cuisine

Every day, fishermen bring in the freshest catch, while farmers collect fresh produce to sell at the local markets. At 4 Rivers Restaurant, they’ve taken the best of the local and global influences that define Cambodian cuisine and created dishes that are specially crafted for your delight. In addition to local favourites, they also serve a mix of Western and Southeast Asian food. Delight in the sun and listen to the forest birds as you sip on delicious cocktails.

The lodge provide travellers to immerse themselves in their surroundings and the adventures tucked away in the Southeast of Cambodia. Adventure to the magnificent Tatai Waterfall by boat, a must see landmark! Or alternatively experience an early morning jungle hike to witness the sunrise enlighten the rainforest. More relaxing activities are offered from sunset river cruises or wander through the Koh Kong Khnong fishing villages.

Enjoy a trip downstream in one of the resorts kayaks, or spend your time sunbathing on your private sundeck. There are a wide selection of trips and tours to take such as a nature trip with one of the expert guides. For the adventurous, there are treks through the jungle or up the Ta Kiev Mountain. One of the most popular relaxing activities is the sunset cruise. This is a magical excursion as you watch the colours of both the sky and the river change before your eyes as you enjoy the sunset.

4 River Floating Lodge was specifically designed to bring luxury to people who visit the region but most importantly do it sustainably. 4 River Floating Lodge present a lodge to meet to the rise in sustainable eco tourism. Working hand in hand with communities and conservation projects, the lodge work hard to protect the area – including regular clean up projects in the area. Ensuring communities their livelihoods and sustained income, while instilling their knowledge into creating an environmentally friendly regime.

To the creators and owners of the Lodge, it was of upmost importance to help not just the resort flourish but the local community too. Building the resort provided jobs from; lodges cooks, boat drivers, cleaners, tour guides and more, utilising the skills and knowledge they already had about the local area. Visiting the 4 Rives Floating Lodge also funds clean-ups such as the Tatai Waterfall Clean-Up as well as more recent projects such as, building and helping schools in the local community.

Water Management System

The resort has created their very own water pumping and treating system. The resort dug two wells and this is the source where the water is pumped from. To ensure this water is safe to use it is then filtered through 3 reservoirs. It is used to provide showers, taps and toilets for the whole resort.

Sustainable Structure

The lodge creators wanted to make this lodge as friendly and sustainable to nature as possible. The resort has solar panels in order to provide electricity for the entire ecolodge.

  • The water hyacinth plant is one of nature’s greatest gifts, as is is plentiful and extremely strong – its used to make much of the furniture throughout the resort
  • The tents are also made from a mix of 100% recycled material and wood which are durable as well as sustainable
  • In addition to this the resort recycles and uses sustainable materials as much as possible in order to protect the land and nature that surrounds it
Waste Reduction
  • The resort works hand in hand with the local community strive to reduce waste. The hotel gives food waste to local farmers for their animals
  • Food packaging is also extremely harmful as it takes decades to decompose so the resort is in partnership with Ecosense Cambodia- whose recycled items biodegrade
  • The toiletries in rooms and drinking straw are all made from bamboo as well as empty bottles such as wine bottles are turned into vases. Drinking water to the rooms is given in these items
