Savour award-winning local and international cuisine whilst being offered captivating views of the Arenal Volcano at Heliconia’s Restaurant. This signature restaurant is decorated with tropical flowers from the gardens, and beautiful coral-stone tables. Dine at these tables to enjoy a generous buffet style breakfast and a la carte dinner.

 

Orquideas

Gather for poolside cocktails in the garden setting of Orquídeas restaurant which compliments the dining experience with a panoramic view of the volcano an resort gardens. This restaurant serves lunch and themed dinners in a casual setting next to the swimming pool.

 

Bar El Higueron

Located near the hot springs pools, this bright, airy bar features delicious cocktails, tropical juices and national beers for guests to enjoy as your relax after a long fun filled day.

Sport bar Carajillos

Guests who love sports can relax in this sports bar and enjoy the views of the Arenal Volcano. This bar is the place to be with three mega screen (50-inch LED Smart TVs). There are also specialty snacks and a large selection of wines, beers and cocktails so there is something for everyone.

Cano Negro Tour

This is a tour suitable for everyone but especially for nature lovers; this tour includes a boat ride on the Frio River, starting at Los Chiles, a little town located 4 kilometres from the Nicaraguan border. The Frio River is part of the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge where you will find one of the most diverse flora and fauna habitats in Costa Rica. You will be able to observe a great variety of birds along the river such as the snake-bird, as well as herons, cormorants, and other animals like howler, spider and white-faced monkeys, three-toed sloths, caimans and turtles.

Hanging Bridges

The Arenal Hanging Bridges is a new tourism attraction in La Fortuna, located 4 kilometres west of Tabacon within a 250 hectare reserve of primary forest. Perfect for nature lovers, guests can enjoy 15 bridges ranging from 5 to 100 metres long, with a friendly design along 3 kilometres of rainforest circuit of interpretive trails built with paving blocks to prevent slipping. To ensure maximum security for their visitors, the bridges are built of aluminium, galvanised steel and concrete. You will be guided by a naturalist guide along this tour who will tell visitors about the natural history which will open the doors of a fascinating and colourful tropical rainforest world.

Kayaking

Kayak on Arenal Lake, Costa Rica’s biggest lake, located at the bottom of the Arenal Volcano; after a short drive, you will arrive at Arenal Lake which matches perfectly with the whole landscape and improves Arenal Volcano’s view. You will be suited up with a life jacket and a paddle once arriving at the lake and will be given a brief explanation of kayaking basic techniques. The tour will begin by paddling across the lake with the opportunity to observe different species of birds such as flycatchers, kingfishers, great blue herons and anhingas.

Sky Tram & Sky Trek

Go on an adventure on the slow-paced Sky Tram Gondolas as they soar smoothly through the rainforest as you enjoy the endless views during the mountainous ascent. You will be accompanied by a bilingual guide and be able to stop the tram at any point to take one-of-a-kind photographs and spot tropical birds. The tour ends on a wide observation platform on the highest point of the Arenal Reserve where you can sit down on comfortable chairs and enjoy the view.

Arenall Natura Night Walk

Experience the rainforest at night as this tour takes you to the snake and frog pond along trails to appreciate the behaviour of the species at night. Terrariums will transform after the sunset which gives you the opportunity to observe one of the most impressive and unique shows in the area of La Fortuna. Included in this tour are entrance fees and a guide, and it is recommended to bring light clothing, closed shoes, insect repellent, a camera, and binoculars.

A.T.V Tour

Experience one of the natural wonders of the world on an A.T.V (All-Terrain Vehicle) with crazy turns, wild jumps and a lot of adrenaline pumping through your body. This tour is not one to be missed as you come to natural rivers along the way where you can stop and clean off the mud you picked up along the way on the ride. You also have the opportunity to take stops and photograph your surroundings to remember your adventure. Transportation, a guide, water and the quads will all be provided but it is recommended to bring to light clothing, comfortable shoes, sun lotion and insect repellent.

Bird Watching

With one of the richest bird diversities in Central America, Costa Rica provides bird watchers with spectacular sights to see. This tour takes you to Arenal Natura Ecological Park and the most recommended hours of the day is early in the morning or late in the afternoon if you wish to see a variety of bird species. You will go on naturalistic trails to observe birds such as the Keel-billed Toucan, the Montezuma oropendola, the Rufous-tailed Hummingbird, the Melodious Blackbird, White Manakin, the Red-winged Blackbird, the green honeycreeper, the Blue-grey Tanager and many more.

Children older than 12 years old or adults are additional person with a surcharge. Children (3 to 11 years old) pay a reduced rate of $10.45. Stays for up to two children aged 3 years and younger are complimentary when sharing a room with an adult.
