Cornerstone Guesthouse

Cornerstone Guesthouse is perfectly situated between the sea and Swakopmund’s town centre on Namibia’s historic Skeleton Coast. The small and intimate B&B is a family-run accommodation, with 5 standard rooms and 2 family rooms. Cornerstone Guesthouse is located in the older section of Swakopmund, close by to interesting attractions such as the marine museum, Kristall Galerie and the old brewery, and is just a short walk from the beach. The old town offers a quieter and more relaxing setting for guests, but cafes, restaurants and a variety of shops and pubs are all within walking distance.

Swakopmund is located at the centre of Namibia’s western coastal border. The seaside town offers a range of activities and attractions including museums, restaurants, and shopping opportunities. Situated in the older part of Swakopmund, Cornerstone Guesthouse enjoys a quiet location where guests can relax but are never far from the excitement. Guests can reach Cornerstone Guesthouse by flying to Walvis Bay International Airport and then taking a 40-minute road transfer.

Double and Twin Rooms

Cornerstone Guesthouse offers 5 double and twin rooms. The beds are fitted with soft linen and can be converted to your preferred configuration. The bedrooms are cosy and comfortable, with a satellite TV, minifridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Each room leads to an en-suite bathroom with a solar-powered shower. Room 5 also includes a bathtub. International power sockets are provided, as well as internet access, meaning that guests can contact loved ones back home. Each room has a private entrance, and features an outdoor patio with plants.

Family Room

The Family Rooms at Cornerstone Guesthouse are similar to the standard rooms, but include additional space for pull-out beds, and a small lounge area. These rooms are suitable for up to four guests and feature modern touches such as a satellite TV, mini-fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Both of the family rooms include their own en-suite bathrooms with a flush toilet, basin and a solar-powered shower. International power sockets are provided, as well as internet access, meaning that guests can contact loved ones back home. Each room has a private entrance, and features an outdoor patio with plants.

Luxury Self-Catering Apartment

Cornerstone’s An Der Mole and Atlantik Sicht Apartments are both located along the seafront, and offer stunning views of the Skeleton Coast. Located just a few minutes from Swakopmund town centre. Both of these self-catering apartments feature three double bedrooms and can cater for up to six guests at a time. There are two bathrooms, the larger including a tub as well as a shower, and both have heated towel rails.

The fully equipped kitchens mean that guests can cook their favourite meals and enjoy barbeques either in Atlantik Sicht’s private garden, or out of An Der Mole’s terrace. The open-plan kitchen also includes a dining area, and the apartments include a spacious lounge with a satellite TV for relaxing and spending time together. Guests will also be provided with a washing machine and tumble dryer, free wi-fi and relaxing sun loungers.

Moringa Gardens

Moringa Gardens is Cornerstone Guesthouse’s luxury self-catering penthouse apartment, located in the heart of Swakopmund. From both of the apartment’s balconies, guests can enjoy sweeping views over Swakopmund and the giant sand dunes of the Namib Desert. The apartment consists of 3 bedrooms, two with queen-size beds and one with a three-quarter bed with an additional pull-out single bed.

There are two bathrooms, the larger including a tub as well as a shower, and both have heated towel rails. The fully equipped kitchen allows guests to cook their favourite meals, and also includes a dining area. A dishwasher is included to help with washing up, and guests will also be provided with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Guests can also enjoy spending time in the penthouse’s spacious lounge area, with a satellite TV and free wi-fi.

Guests at Cornerstone Guesthouse can look forward to delicious breakfasts consisting of fresh fruit, yoghurt and a selection of breads. Eggs and bacon are available from the kitchen and are cooked to order. Tea, coffee and juice are also provided. Lunch packs can be made for when you leave if requested the night before.

Living Desert Tour

Explore the Namib desert on a guided excursion and discover the hidden life in this seemingly empty landscape. Visitors may find desert lizards and other creatures that have adapted to living out among the shifting sands. Look out for Welwitschia plants among the desolate dunes and alien scenery.

Quad Biking

Quad biking tours through the dunes are safe for both guests and the ecosystem. The tours follow strict ecological guidelines so that they do not cause any damage to the beautiful Skeleton Coast. Enjoy speeding across the landscape, taking in its vast, endless scenery.

Scenic Flights and Ballooning

Take a scenic flight or balloon journey over the golden sands and shipwrecks that mark the Skeleton Coast. View the massive whale bones from a bird’s eye perspective and take in the magnificent sweeping landscape which stretches as far as the eye can see.
