The on-site Sierra Bar is a perfect chance for guests to relax and unwind whilst watching magical sunsets in a Tiki themed bar. The wooden terrace looks onto both the Piedras River and the mighty sea, combining the South Pacific with Caribbean sands. The cocktail menu features Polynesian and Caribbean flavours with a variety of cocktails, spirits and beers to choose from, soft drink options are available for those who wish.

Finca Barlovento offers an outdoor pool surrounded by a beautiful terrace and Neem Spa offers guests further relaxation. Embrace surrounding nature and find zen with warm oil-based therapy and aromatic perfumes.

Hike through the trails connecting the beaches on the western side of the park: Cañaveral, Arrecifes, La Piscina, Cabo San Juan de Guía, Punta Piedra and Bocas del Saco. Immerse yourself into the tropical rainforest and the breathtaking landscapes around Chairama, the holy city by the sea built in pre Columbian times.

Hike along the riverside of the Mendihuaca, one of dozens of rivers flowing down the Sierra Nevada. Explore  into the natural diversity of the base of this magical mountain.

The staff at Finca Barlovento have been involved with the project from the beginning and the whole team is based in the surrounding area. We’ve focused from the start on hiring local people, mostly women who are in charge of their households but with the drawback of being unable to speak foreign languages. Finca Barlovento see this challenge as a wonderful opportunity to learn and practice Spanish. We’ve cultivated a relationship with our workforce based on trust, respect and a strong commitment to our goals.

Finca Barlovento manage and minimise water consumption and energy by using fresh well water. We aim to improve the quality of discharges and carry out effective waste management and long for a measured, balanced and sustainable impact on the environment by using responsible practices to reduce negative effects.
