Hacienda Piman

Welcome to Hacienda Pimán, a romantic and rustic retreat among a sea of flowers in the foothills of the Andes. This former colonial mansion features stunning rooms that reflect the region’s style and history. The elegantly furnished homestead allows guests to absorb Andean culture throughout – from waking up to in tailored bedrooms to enjoying the delicious farm to food dishes cooked up by the innovative chef. This is the perfect place to switch off and experience the Andean lifestyle.

Hacienda Piman

The Hacienda is only six miles from the city of Ibarra in Imbabura Province and nine miles from the Afro-Ecuadorian valley of El Chota. Pimán is a two-and-a-half hour drive from Quito. The hotel can arrange transfers from Quito as well as transportation around the area, with a guide if desired.

Great leafy trees, the mountainous city and vast lakes converge at the cultural and geographical meeting point of El Chota Valley and Ibarra. The Ibarra-Salinas railway runs through lush valleys and rugged volcanoes as it crosses the landscape. To the north, El Ángel Ecological Reserve presents an almost otherworldly environment overrun with forests and giant frailejones plants.

El Chota’s Afro-Ecuadorian community, with its own rich heritage, can also be encountered north of Pimán, making the region truly varied both geographically and culturally.

The climate varies very little during the year, with daytime temperatures between 14 and 30 degrees Celsius and little rain.
