Hotel AWA

Hotel AWA is located in Chilean Patagonia, only 20 minutes away from the city of Puerto Varas! It is the perfect place to explore Patagonia. This wonderful hotel is very spacious, featuring large floor to ceiling windows that offer stunning views of Llanquihue Lake and the Osorno Volcano. The rooms come also equipped with Wi-Fi access, a television, fireplace and a mini bar. Guests may enjoy delicious meals at the onsite restaurant as well as unwind with refreshing handcrafted drinks at the bar. The hotel also offers a spa that features two heated pools, a sauna, steam room, hydro massage pool and various of spa therapies.

All rooms have privileged views of Lake Llanquihue and the Osorno Volcano through a floor-to-ceiling window. Rooms come in three categories: Superior Rooms, Suite Rooms, and Villa.

Superior Rooms are ideal to rest and enjoy a spectacular view. They allow to have a super king-size bed or two twin beds. Suite Rooms have a comfortable living room equipped with a small bar and a sofa bed. Also, they allow to have a super king-size bed or two twin beds. Finally there is the Villa. A private space, ideal for families or larger groups. A modern private house located only 20 meters from the hotel. The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room for a max. of  10 guests and a spacious living room with a fireplace, satellite television and an incredible view and feeling of being “on the lake”.

AWA Restaurant

AWA Restaurant offers its guests authentic cooked meals with local produce, they are all organic. Also, they offer international cuisines which have a twist as AWA incorporates local and traditional techniques in its cuisines. Some of the uniquely made cuisines on the menu are the following: Trea keal (Toffee pudding with chilean hazelnut texture), Octopus Mosaic , Southern Hake and Leg of Lamb.

There are a variety of activities on offer within the local area. Depending on the weather, guests can enjoy a high range of activities from very unique helicopter tours to adventurous rafting, horseback riding to fly fishing, hiking; to enjoying the luxurious wellness and spa facilities that the hotel has to offer.

Helicopter Flight - Cochamo Valley

The excursion starts at AWA Hotel and heads east towards Osorno Volcano. The helicopter flies through hidden valleys within the Andes with views of gorgeous pristine turquoise lakes and ancient forests. The destination is Cochamó, which is the “Chilean Mecca” for its rock climbing and known for its similarity to Yosemite, however, not as crowded or as accessible. The helicopter lands at a spectacular viewpoint within the granite mountains, where the passengers go for a short hike while guides prepare lunch. After lunch, the helicopter flies back to AWA passing over Calbuco Volcano. The excursion ends at AWA.

Rafting Petrohué

This activity begins at the base in Ensenada, where the guides will provide equipment and instructions for the river along with a safety talk. You will head towards the Petrohué River, where the guides will divide the groups and give the final instructions before you get into the rafts and begin a 50 minutes descent with class 3 rapids (5 is the most difficult). It’s an excursion to be enjoyed with a group of people and is fantastic for adventure seekers.

AWA - Wellness

At AWA you can relax and experience a unique and comfortable wellness spa and facilities. Such as Integral Yoga – which is yoga for everyone and experience the connection between body, spirit and mind through either asana yoga or meditation. Also, at the spa you can relax and experience the following: holistic therapies (Detox Facial, Reiki or Foot Reflexology), Body (Hot Stone Massages, Relieving Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage) and variety of Facials ( Deep Facial Cleansing, Revitalising Facial, Facial Hydration).

Teatro del Lago

There is a guided group visit to discover the interior of the theatre, you will experience the history, origin, architectural characteristics, educational work and artistic programming that inspire the development of Teatro del Lago. You will also be immersed into the historical landmarks such as the Lake Llanquihue Amphitheater, dressing rooms, lounges and the main stage Espacio Tronador where great national and international artists have performed.

Social Corporate Responsibility

AWA takes on social corporate responsibility by being an eco – friendly hotel that is sustainable in the following ways:

  • Solar Panels – in order to contribute to sustainable development, AWA hotel installed 85.2 kWp system, which translates into 262 325W solar panels during its build in 2019 (environmental metrics indicate that 1,883 tons of CO2 will be mitigated).
  • Vegetable Garden – since 2017 AWA hotel has an organic garden based on regenerative and permanent agriculture. The garden project was created from the need to provide for the AWA restaurant kitchen with the freshest products, however, also with the aim of promoting small-scale agriculture in the Los Lagos region.
