Kulala Desert Lodge’s location at the foot of the majestic Sossusvlei dunes allows for stunning views in every direction, while its private entrance to the Namib Naukluft National Park makes it the closest location to Sossusvlei. The camp is ideal for self-drives and groups.
Twenty-three thatched ‘kulalas’ (including two family units) on raised platforms make for airy, comfortable accommodation, and guests can even sleep out on the flat roofs. Afternoons around the pool provide relief from the heat, while the wraparound veranda at the main area overlooks a waterhole, and private tours of the dunes provide the ultimate Sossusvlei experience.

Standard Kulala(s)
There are 21 standard kulalas which are made up of 18 twin bedded kulalas and three double bedded kulalas. There are four guide units which are much smaller than the standard units.
Family Kulala(s)
There are two family kulalas – two separate rooms with separate entrances and en-suite bathrooms and a connecting deck.
Kulala Desert Lodge is situated at the foot of the majestic Sossusvlei Dunes and is the closest location to Sossusvlei (via a private gate exclusive to Wilderness Safaris vehicles). Scenic nature drives and walks are available; electric ‘fat bikes’ are a fun way to explore the spectacular open plains. A highlight is to experience the area on a hot air balloon safari (at extra cost).
