For a more intense fishing experience, try your hand against the infamous fighters of delta waters, African pike.

Fishing is offered at Little Kwara for 10 months of the year but is prohibited in January and February as this is peak breeding season. Basic equipment is supplied, though avid fly-fishers are advised to bring their own equipment. Please note, catch and release fishing only.

The ’Mummy’s Angels’ project began operation in 2018 at the behest of three local women from Maun. Having witnessed the plight of mothers with new-born children lacking in financial and family support, they decided to offer assistance in the form of providing donated clothes and garments for young children. The Mummy’s Angels programme has since supplied vast quantities of clothes for mothers in need to provide for their children, with Kwando Safaris promising to match every article of clothing donated with a similar donation.

Kwando Safaris invites guests to bring some of the requested items along with them as they come on safari, incentivising brighter prospects for all mothers of new-born children and providing support for women who need it most.

Botswana’s 50th Anniversary of Independence in 2016 was a great cause for celebration throughout the country and served as an appropriate means to contribute to many local communities within the reach of Kwando Safaris.

This was achieved by donating a variety of essential, highly sought-after household supplies that many rural communities often struggle to attain. Kwando Safari staff came together for a weekend, pooling many hours and resources in order to distribute buckets (a more useful household item than a basket for example) to the more rural outskirts of Maun. Such initiatives serve to provide rural communities with some of the essential necessities to facilitate the needs of everyday life, such as having an appropriate means to collect water from village wells. Kwando Safaris intends to continue this practice and will do it once at the beginning of the year and again around the anniversary period.
