Li-An Lodge sits proudly on top of a mountain overlooking rows and rows of rice terraces, bordering a local village. The building itself is made entirely of wood through the implementation of traditional Chinese techniques of tongue and groove without using a single nail. It was a brain child of a renowned photographer, Karen Su who wanted people to stay in this stunning location but also retain traditional ways, instead of focusing on newer methods of building or sustainability.
