Lukimbi Safari Lodge, Malelane, South Africa
The Kruger National Park was founded in 1926 and is 20,000km² of pristine wilderness. The Kruger is one of the largest and most well-known game reserves in South Africa, and the unfenced borders between it and the surrounding reserves create one of the most biodiverse wildlife populations in Africa.
A diverse range of landscapes is the home to many magnificent animals, with stretches of grassland, thick areas of woodland, emerald watering holes, winding rivers and endless horizons sheltering the big five; elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard as well as giraffe, hyena, zebra, cheetah and hippos. This park is also a birders paradise, with the red-billed pecker, black-bellied bustard and comb duck all filling the sky with their songs.
Guests can access Lukimbi Safari Lodge by flying to Johannesburg and self-driving to the lodge. Guests can also request directions from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.

Guests can head out on a traditional and exciting safari activity while staying at Tintswalo Family Camp; a game drive. Journey through the wilderness of the Kruger in the comfort of a 4×4 safari vehicle and keep your eyes peeled for animals hiding in the grasses. Professional and friendly guides will lead you to all the best viewing spots, while giving educational and interesting talks. Guests can head out in the early morning, to experience the bush waking up, or in the late afternoon, to experience the nocturnal creatures coming out to play. Being a Big Five reserve, guests can expect to see lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos and rhinos.
For an immersive way to explore the Kruger, take to your own two feet and wander through the wilderness. A guided walk is a perfect way to truly appreciate and understand the surrounding nature; a slower pace means you will take in many things which you may have missed on a game drive, such as insect life and micro-ecosystems. Led by an experienced and knowledgeable guide guests will leave the walks educated and enlightened.
Guests can spend their afternoon in the spa, unwinding and self-indulging with a relaxing massage. Take care of your mind, body, and soul, with a range of treatments available, from aromatherapy massages to facials. Guests who enjoy fitness can spend time in the fully equipped gym with a view, beginning their day with a quick workout.
