Sava Dunes sits on the coast in the south of Mozambique. The team recommend arriving by aeroplane, landing at Inhambane 25km from the lodge. If driving, it is recommended you use a 4×4 vehicle. Sava Dunes is 507km from Mozambique’s capital Maputo.

Accommodation at Sava Dunes consists of five peaceful ocean-view chalets and one family chalet. All the chalets are connected by a wooden walkway along the sand dune. The spacious family chalet boasts a beautiful view of the garden. With two bedrooms, one double and one twin, families can ensure everyone has space to put their feet up in these sleek, peaceful chalets. There is also space for a sofa bed.
Ocean-view cottages can be arranged as double or twin bedrooms, all looking out onto the water, with a private deck for relaxation – the perfect place to catch the sunset. These decks are complete with a set of chairs and a hammock. With solar heated showers, mosquito nets, and beautiful interiors, you’ll have everything you need for the most peaceful stay along Mozambique’s beautiful coastline.
In the lodge’s main area you can find the bar and dining area, all connected to the chalets over winding wooden walkways. There you can dine on delicious food as the waves kiss the shores just metres away. Breakfast is enjoyed out on the breakfast deck, taking full advantage of the gorgeous morning skies. The Sava Dunes team regularly takes part in beach clean-ups and guests are actively invited to take part in these too. By supporting the community in the effort to keep the beaches clean, Sava Dunes is helping to protect Mozambique’s wild and marine life.
The lodge is powered entirely by solar power and their own solar geysers, and water is collected and cleaned from the borehole. Off the grid and on the beach, Sava Dunes is completely carbon neutral!
Produce used in the kitchen is grown right in the lodge’s own vegetable patch, and eggs are collected from the chickens on the property. You can’t get much more local and fresh than that!
Children aged 5+ are welcome, and families can choose to stay in the lodge’s dedicated family chalet.
