The riverside Yangshuo restaurant has become the hub of the hotel for the past 19 years with a relaxed atmosphere that welcomes guests to taste the delectable local and western cuisine. Experience the local specialties prepared by the kitchen team which are made with fresh ingredients sourced from the nearby villages. Guests can order a variety of Chinese and Western specialties from the menu including French toast, rice and noodles, apple crumble, spaghetti, and more.

Guests can dine indoors as well as by the riverside in the dining room which is furnished with locally grown bamboo seating. There are 20 original hand-made seats within the dining room with air conditioning on hot summer days and a log fire for warmth on cold winter days. Indulge in traditional European homemade bread and pasta prepared by the Austrian chef or order from the bar with beverages available such as wines, spirits, soft drinks, and tea and coffee.

Located in Jinshan Park, the Jinshan Temple is a famous scenic site in the west of Zhenjiang City with a history of more than 1600 years. Visitors can see pilgrims pray within the temple as well as magnificent halls with numerous josses and many cultural treasures. Observe the Four Treasures including the jade belt of Su Shi, the war drum of Liang Hongyu, the Jinshan chart by Wen Zhengming, and the famous tripod made in Zhou Dynasty. You can also climb up inside the tower to see different scenes on each landing and whilst at the top you will be provided with views of the Jinshan Mountain.

West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo which has a history of more than 1400 years and has become popular for its Eastern and Western culture. The street is also known as ‘the global village’ as English has become the language used daily by the Yangshuo residents as foreigners outnumber the Chinese people. During your visit, you will be surrounded by an array of traditional folk and will have the opportunity to explore a number of shops including craftwork shops, painting and calligraphy stores, backpack shops, cafes, and Chinese Kung Fu academies. Visitors can purchase many items on offer within the stores such as silk cloth, wax-painted weaving, shoes or relax in the cafes to taste the local delicacies like a Chinese rice cake, rice noodles, and much more.

Yangshuo Park provides a peaceful and secluded environment for visitors due to the abundant of osmanthus trees and bamboos within the park. The Double Moon Stream runs through the park which guests can walk alongside as well as gazing upon the majestic mountains that surround the park. Stroll through the park until you come across the Unique Mountain in the east side of Yangshuo Park which looks like a column and is known as ‘Bamboo Bowl Mountain’ as the shape of it looks similar to a bamboo’s root. Visitors can also venture into the Spring Buds Garden in which there is a pool in the centre and a main building that is a conjoined hexagonal pavilion situated next to the pool.

Yangshuo Mountain Retreat offers a simple farm to table menu with western favourites and their own bakery with the produce locally sourced which comes from their families’ own farm and are cooked in local style. The hotel has a commitment to sustainability and empowering the local people running the hotel as Yangshuo Mountain Retreat is entirely run by people from the local villages. No taxis or buses are allowed in the scenic area surrounding the hotel and their commitment to sustainability and protecting the environment means that no disposable or single-use items are used at the hotel, no plastic bottles are offered in the rooms and throw-away cheap amenities are also not available.
