Sindabezi Island Lodge

Exclusive, private and authentic are three words which describe the feeling of Sindabezi Island Lodge. Located on an island of the same name in the flowing Zambezi River, the lodge has huts made out of natural materials and thatch roofs which make the camp feel traditional and conscious of nature, and it is this consciousness that has earned the lodge the title of one of the top 10 eco-lodges in Africa. With only five chalets, this lodge is perfect for couples wanting a romantic stay or the whole island can be booked for groups of friends to enjoy. Chalets are luxurious with large, comfy beds and features that make them unique, from toilets with a view, outdoor bathtubs, hammocks and private deckings. Enjoy dinners al fresco style, under the wide starry sky and drinks around the Boma where you can share stories of your day. Spend days exploring the other islands and the magnificent Victoria Falls or enjoy more relaxed days birdwatching, with picnics and a dip in the plunge pool.
 

Vundu Camp

Vundu Camp stands along the banks of the Zambezi River, half-hidden amongst a cluster of ebony and tamarind trees that offer both shade and a sense of privacy. Due to its riverside location, Vundu Camp is closed over the rainy season (December to April) when the riverbanks flood. The camp lies within a private concession within Mana Pools National Park, giving guests exclusive front row seats to exciting wildlife viewing from the comfort of the camp itself. The eight thatched chalets provide a luxurious setting for relaxing and waiting for the incredible local wildlife to come to you. Each room has a lounge area and outdoor seating that overlooks the tranquil waters of the Zambezi River, where guests can look out for hippos and crocodiles. Vundu Camp is also home to a number of wild dogs (also known as painted wolves) and the camp’s owners, Nick and Desiree Murray, worked alongside Sir David Attenborough for BBC’s Earth Dynasties painted wolf episode – shot at Vundu Camp.

Stanley Safari Lodge

Nestled in the wilderness of Zambia, on the border of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, sits Stanley Safari Lodge. The lodge is authentic and comfortable, with a cosy main house which has a feature fireplace for cooler evenings and a relaxing library area, perfect for unwinding after a long day exploring. The lodge is small and exclusive, with 10 rooms which are all authentic, with private decking areas and unique features, from baths with a view to plunge pools. Amalinda Lodge

Amalinda Lodge is set among the Matobo Hills, built into and around the granite domes and giant rocks that mark this incredible landscape. The lodge uses the existing rock features and incorporates them into its design to create a unique refuge where guests can be at one with the natural surroundings in an ancient bushman shelter. Chongwe River House

Chongwe River House represents award-winning safari design at its absolute finest. This charming, two storey, four bedroom private house is set on a serene stretch of the Chongwe River against a magnificent mountainous backdrop. The Chongwe area is well-know for its population of elephants which will frequently wander through the camp in search of seed pods from the winterthorn trees. Chongwe River House mixes smoothly into the tranquil river setting. The flowing curves and bends of the house become open living spaces that accentuate the surrounding wilderness. Waterfall showers, private open air bathtubs, furniture carved from a winterthorn tree and ceilings studded with river pebbles all combine to complete the inspired design. Chongwe River Camp

Surrounded by pristine wildlife is Chongwe River Camp. Sat on the edge of both the Zambezi River and Chongwe River the camp is authentic and luxurious, exuding a sense of peace and exclusivity with only 9 safari tents. The tents are comfortable and spacious, filled with bright natural light and with unparalleled river views of the sparkling Chongwe. Enjoy freshly prepared and local food in the bush, and an authentic sundowner experience around the crackling fire pit. Guests can explore the surroundings on an exciting game drive or boat safari, or a gentle canoe down the calm water of the river. Royal Zambezi Lodge

Chamilandu Bushcamp

Chamilandu is a magnificent camp on one of the South Luangwa’s ultimate river locations, perfect for a panoramic view of the wildlife that the river and its lagoons hold. There are only three stilted chalets here, allowing guests to experience true serenity on a riverbank beneath a soaring ebony grove. Every chalet has its own raised veranda to relax on during the heat of the day, and an open-fronted en-suite bathroom with the same encapsulating views over the tranquil waters. Two of the chalets are twins (2 queen-sized beds) and one is a double (king-sized bed), making room for just six guests, perfect for small groups. Guests can gaze at thea sunset from the comfort of the thatched bar and dining area, as they watch the wildlife go through their evening routines.

Bilimungwe Bushcamp

Looking over 3 natural waterholes with many herds of elephant, Bilimungwe Bushcamp is a hidden gem tucked away under huge mahogany trees. The 4 large thatched chalets sit on stilts and have magnificent views of one or two of the three watering holes. Bilimungwe has a magnificent secret breakfast spot on the edge of Luangwa Valley, perfect to watch the sunrise over the Chindeni hills, as well as a boma ready-made for surprise outdoor dinners under the stars!

Chongwe River Suites

Indulge in luxury and seclusion while immersing yourself in the wildest of settings! Wake up to birdsong as the sun rises over the Zambezi River, reflecting the colours all around you. Playful vervet monkeys will scamper through the canopy above as you watch a herd of elephants feed on the seed pods dropped from a nearby tree. Named for local, indigenous plants that grow in the area, the Cassia and Albida Suites are tucked under ancient towering trees at the convergence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers. The one-bedroom Cassia Suite is a private suite for two, perfect for honeymooners and couples, while the two-bedroom, two-bathroom Albida Suite sleeps four guests and is great for families or friends travelling together.
