Located on a 60,000ha private reserve which shares a border with the Etosha National Park, this secluded safari camp is a true Namibian treasure. Opened in 2016, the Safarihoek team’s continued aim is to expose its guests to the real and raw side of Namibia, while not forgoing the comforts. Here is where you can explore the wilderness, spot endangered species and economically support those actively trying to save them and their habitats. Relax in the serenity and silence, as distant calls of wildlife meander across the grassland; take a dip in the sparkling pool, enjoy delicious seasonal dinners, and most of all bask in the beauty of the Namibian savannah. Make memories you’ll treasure forever as you spend evenings by the fireside watching the stars, and magical mornings driving out into the wonder of the reserve.

Onguma The Fort

Surrounded by the beauty of the Etosha Pans, where wild animals roam, is Onguma The Fort. The fawn colour of the Afro-Moroccan architecture blends into the dust of the grassland around you, as tranquillity and wilderness intertwine. Relax within your own private suite complete with a viewing deck just for you, so you can catch sight of animals at the watering hole right in front of the property. At Onguma The Fort, you can indulge in three course meals, massage therapy, and cool off from the heat with a dip in the pool. But most importantly, you can accompany expert guides as they traverse the landscape, spotting footprints and tracking down endangered species on this private reserve. Get to know how the Onguma team are helping to conserve the wildlife, and take part in one of the Sunset Drives, as the beauty of the dramatic Namibian landscape comes alive. This is a escape into the wild like no other.
