Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Immerse yourself in the home of safari with three nights at this incredible reserve renowned for its abundance of wildlife. Sabi Sands shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, allowing a fantastic concentration of game to flow into the park. The elusive leopard is the star of the show but is only one member of the veritable kingdom of animals that thrives on the Sabi and Sands rivers.

Rangers here have more freedom than in other non-private reserves to guide you closer to animals in the bush, while sole traversing rights and strict vehicle limits guarantee exclusive and undisturbed game viewing. This is a marvellous reserve, with hundreds of animal and game species. Get to know them with day and night game drives as well as bush walks that bring you truly in touch with your surroundings.

andBeyond Benguerra Island

Prepare for a change of scene as you alight on this gorgeous island off the coast of Mozambique. This idyllic location lies within the protected marine reserve of the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park. Scuba diving among coral reefs, snorkelling alongside the rainbow of sea life and looking out for the mysterious Dugong are just some of the highlights of your stay.

Explore the landscape and freshwater lagoons inland on a horse safari. Take in an exquisite castaway picnic and cap a romantic day off with a sunset dhow cruise. Your luxury casinha, nestled beneath the shade of the indigenous forest, offers outdoor showers, a view of the tropical garden and all manner of ways to relax on the sand – including a beach bar.

You will be met at O.R. Tambo Airport by a Menzies Aviation representative who will assist you through customs and onto your onward flight to Skukuza Airport. Here an andBeyond team member will welcome you and transfer you to andBeyond Kirkman’s Kamp. Be transported back in time by this beloved lodge, which originally dates back to the 1920s and showcases the classic safari aesthetic of the colonial era. Spacious cottages provide an intimate stay, with private verandas, perfect for a romantic lunch overlooking the bush. En suite bathrooms are equipped with showers and baths, and your suite is air-conditioned for ultimate comfort. Lush lawns spread out from the camp’s main lounge area – one option for a delicious, pan-African dinner, if you don’t choose to dine in the beautiful boma or under the stars in the bush. Harry’s bar offers a relaxed, communal environment to unwind, while the rim-flow swimming pool looks out on a stunning vista and often sees leopards come to visit.

Game drives run in the morning, afternoon and at night, allowing you to get to know both the nocturnal and diurnal species and witness predator action at the best time. Not only are the Big Five in action, but countless other species including pangolin, spotted hyena and baboon can be seen.

Gaze out at the magical view of Bazaruto Archipelago before you touch down in paradise.

andBeyond Benguerra is a tranquil haven of natural beauty. White sands and cerulean seas sweep into the horizon, while flourishing forest trees create a pool of shade for your casinha. Reconnect with yourself as you feel the sand beneath your toes and the waves at your ankles. A stay at Benguerra is a balm for the soul – and an adventure for the senses.

Your spacious casinha is designed with the local environment in mind, with natural materials and comfortable furniture blending into the island’s beauty. There’s an en suite bathroom, as well as alfresco showers, for complete immersion in your lush, tropical surroundings. The guest area hosts a glistening rim-flow swimming pool, with shaded loungers – perfect for reclining in with your favourite drink in hand. The beach bar, just beside the water’s edge, is a delightful spot to pass the hours between the sun and sea, while delicious meals can also be taken directly on the beach.

Or marvel at the sea life at your own pace, snorkelling closer to the surface. Horseback safaris are an unforgettable way to explore the island, dashing across the sand, venturing into the lush indigenous forest and giving an insight into local island life.

Ask your host about an island village visit, or where the mysterious local dugong herd was last spotted. Indulge in a heavenly castaway picnic among the golden sand dunes, dining in romantic seclusion on exquisite, hand-picked delicacies. And what better way to end a day on the island than cocktails on a sunset dhow cruise?
