The roof of the resort compromises of 984 solar panels, spanning an area of 1643m2, allowing the entire resort to be powered by the sun, the first resort in the Maldives to fully do so.

Kudadoo supports sustainable snorkelling and diving practices and in partnership with the Manta Trust, contributes to research and educates residents about the Manta Rays surrounding the island. The island is home to a marine biologist to ensure that the Manta Rays are being protected and to educate guests on this important funding.

The Maldives is a hotspot for sea turtles and in partnership with the Olive Ridley Project, Kudadoo can ensure that their natural habitat is being protected. Research allows the resident team to identify population numbers and their patterns so that their species do not decrease and become eradicated.

Kudadoo has built the resort with nature in mind, and by doing so has sourced eco-conscious materials for each residence to reduce their environmental impact at every point possible. This includes wood from sustainably managed forests in Indonesia, New Zealand and Canada. In collaboration with architect Yuji Yamazaki, indigenous design has been included to allow the natural elements of the Maldives to be at the heart of the resort and so that the resort does not obstruct the natural views and land of the island itself.
