Petit St. Vincent have a scholarship fund in place which offers financial support for the employees children. Financial support it given to children from “as young as three, up to university undergraduates.”

Petit St. Vincent are working in partnership with CLEAR Caribbean and the Philip Stephenson Foundation on a “coral restoration project”. So far a coral nursery has been constructed “using fragments of Elkhorn coral collected from around the island.” Reef regeneration is “a crucial step towards creating a designated marine protected area around St. Vincent.”

Fresh Water, Electricity and Recycling

Petit St. Vincent Private Island Resort make sure they implement eco friendly practices to help lessen their impact on the environment and to help create a better future. For their supply of fresh water a reverse osmosis desalination plant is used to “process ocean water”. Also on the island is a water bottling plant which they use to bottle the drinking water into “reusable glass bottles”, reducing plastic waste. To protect the local wildlife of the island all the power is supplied “by a soundproof energy efficient diesel generator.” Not only is the power supply reliable but it always “exceeds demand.” Various recycling initiatives are used at Petit St. Vincent, “glass containers and metal cans are crushed back into sand” and fertiliser for the chef’s garden is made out of fallen leaves, seaweed and cut grass.

Re-Coralling

A coral restoration project is underway on the private island of Petit St. Vincent in the Grenadines. The Philip Stephenson Foundation and CLEAR Caribbean have partnered with local staff and communities to work on raising Elkhorn corals, restore reefs, and protect marine life, giving nature a chance to recover and bloom.
