Lagoon Cabin

The eco-friendly Lagoon Cabins are tucked away in the surrounding flora, giving you a stunning view of the nearby lagoon and the exotic birds that live in it. The cabin is decorated in a mixture of transitional and modern decor, using blue and green jewel tones that match the lagoon and lush greenery outside. Jungle Cabin

The Jungle Cabins have spacious interiors and feature organic cotton-covered furnishings and beautiful Sri Lankan decorations. The Beach Cabins offer breathtaking views of the jungle and the beach beyond it which you can admire from your private outdoor terrace. Nature Cycle Trail

Take a gentle bike ride along the scenic eastern coast of Sri Lanka on the path that leads to the Maduwakulam Tank. The paths you go on are home to a wonderful array of water birds and migratory birds, as wells as peacocks and parakeets. There’s the possibility that you’ll glimpse the elephants, monkeys, or crocodiles that live within the tank.

Kite Making

Kit flying is a pastime enjoyed by Sri Lankans from all walks of life and there are  fascinating traditions involved in the crafting of the kites. This activity can be done by you and your family. Whale and Dolphin Watching

Whale and dolphin watching is one of Sri Lanka’s biggest seasonal attractions and the waters off the coast of Uga Jungle Beach have some of the best spots for  sighting the world’s largest ever mammal – the Blue Whale. The three-and-a-half hour excursion also takes you to water where Sperm Whales and Spinner Dolphins are often seen.

Pigeon Island Marine National Park

With this diving and snorkelling excursion, you can discover the splendour of this subaquatic paradise. The Pigeon Island Marine National Park contains over 100 species of stunning coral that’s home to over 300 species of colourful reef fish, and Sri Lanka’s iconic sea turtle.

Thiriyai Temple

The ruins of the ancient Buddhist Dagaba, the Girihandu Seya, is steeped in folklore and is believed to enshrine a hair from the Lord Buddha himself. Set atop a 212-foot rock it offers you a brilliant 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside and the old seaport of the Jaffna Kingdom.

Community Projects

Uga Escapes sponsors community projects in the areas around their hotels. Uga Jungle Beach has sponsored multiple community projects including donating furniture and books to schools and libraries, providing refreshment for 150 children in hospital, and implementing a waste management system on Pigeon Island in an effort to minimise pollution.

Uga Jungle Beach increases their energy efficiency through low energy fittings, sensors and motion detectors that automatically turn the lights off when you leave the room.
