Governors’ Il Moran Camp

Il Moran is often considered to be the premiere camp of the Maasai Mara, with beautiful scenery, rich culture and the best wildlife viewing at your fingertips. Small and peaceful, it’s a fantastic destination for honeymooners, couples and those who are searching for a special and eco-conscious adventure. Il Moran Camp resides in the forest shade mirroring the flow of the Mara River, where hippos wallow happily. Recently refurbished in 2018, this Silver Eco award-winning camp is ideal for those seeking a little extra luxury. Il Moran has been kept small to hold on to that cosy intimate feel, with just 10 canvas tents hidden under the ancient trees, lining the winding banks of the Mara River

Little Governors’ Camp

Little Governors’ Camp is an intimate setting that has won the hearts of its guests time and time again, with arguably the best safari atmosphere of all the Governors’ Camps. The camp can only be reached by boat and a forest walk, and animals, including a resident warthog family can roam freely, so that guests are truly removed from civilisation is never in question. The 17 recently renovated guest tents are tucked away on the forest’s edge overlooking the much visited watering hole, bringing the wilds right to your door. The experience at Governors’ Private Camp is founded on tranquillity, intimacy and a connection with nature. Its wonderful location made it the top choice for the BBC’s “Big Cat Diaries” filming and remains a prime spot to witness Big Cats to this day, with really high chances of seeing lions, leopards and cheetahs.

Governors’ Private Camp

One might regard Governors’ Private Camp as the jewel in the Collection’s crown, and with good reason. Picked on a pristine spot by the Mara River where animals come to drink and take cooling dips, a sublime safari adventure awaits. A personalised experience is the trademark of Governors’ Private Camp with a warm and friendly team on hand to see to your every need. The whole camp can be exclusively booked for a large family or travelling party and so is perfect for a cosy group setting away from the clamour of more crowded destinations. Governors’ Private Camp is a much sought out location by tourists and wildlife alike, a place where two worlds converge.

Sarara Tree Camp

Sarara Tree Camp embodies the same vibrant atmosphere as its sister, Sarara Camp. Located in a forest glade within the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy, Sarara Treehouses combines luxurious accommodation with wild adventure as wildlife roams the forest floor below. While only an hour’s walk or a 20 minute drive from its sister camp, Sarara Tree Camp feels like a world of its own, nestled in a verdant forest instead of on more open plains. This off the grid hideaway is entirely eco-friendly, ‘with every precaution and expense taken to preserve the natural habitat surrounding it.’ But what really makes Sarara Tree Camp special is the sense of culture and connection with the local Samburu people.

Kitich Forest Camp

Withdrawn from the dry savannah plains and secluded in verdant ancient forests, Kitich is like no other camp in East Africa. On the slopes the Matthews Mountain Range you can step into a world held in harmony between the indigenous Samburu people and the beasts roaming the age-old forest, untarnished by urban modernity. With only 6 tents available, you’ll truly feel like you’re part of this world too. Instead of traditional game drives, you can pick from up to 22 walking trails that’ll take you deep into the forests where you can walk alongside crystal clear streams, follow the trodden tracks made by elephants, or stalk a wandering lioness with your trusty Samburu guide.
