Karoo Lodge at Samara

Karoo Lodge is situated within the peaceful Samara Private Game Reserve, surrounded by 27,000-hectare of pristine wilderness and resting in the shade of a natural amphitheatre of mountains. The lodge features a warm and inviting living room with a luxurious bar area and cosy fireside seating. A large dining room with a fireplace is used for indoor dinners during the chilly winter evenings, and when the weather is pleasant, guests can enjoy romantic candlelit dinners out on the verandah, or in the boma, a traditional reed enclosure warmed by a roaring fire. The pool is fenced off from the spacious main lawn and has a covered gazebo area for warm summer evenings.
Karoo Lodge consists of nine double rooms and can cater for solo travellers, couples and families. The lodge can also be booked for the exclusive use of up to 18 guests, offering an incredible private safari experience in this tranquil and comfortable setting.

Kwandwe Fort House

Kwandwe Fort House is a private villa set within the rugged landscape of the stunning Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Guests can look forward to an incredible safari adventure in the heart of the wilderness, surrounded by rolling verdant plains and scattered vegetation. Elegantly designed and set within a rugged landscape, modernity meets classic safari at Fort House.

The exclusive villa features two master bedrooms and two suites as well as luxurious and spacious living and entertainment areas. The house can cater for up to eight guests and includes staff who will ensure every detail is perfect throughout your stay.

Guests can enjoy unwinding on the front terrace that overlooks a wildlife-rich expanse of grassland close to one of the major waterholes on the reserve. Here you can look out for the Kwandwe’s prolific birdlife or amazing mammals including the famous Big 5.

The solar-heated rim-flow pool shares the same view, as does the boma which is sunken into the grounds of the expansive lawn in front of the house and offers guests a romantic setting for dining under the stars. Fort House’s central location provides easy access to the prime game viewing areas of Kwandwe, while offering a serene and tranquil atmosphere far from the other lodges within the reserve.

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge

Ecca Lodge rests in the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, overlooking breathtakingly beautiful scenery and a dense valley of verdant trees, rich flora and incredible wildlife. Nestled amongst the treetops, the six wood and glass suites offer stunning panoramic views featuring an escarpment of steep shale cliffs. With light and airy atmospheres, stylish interiors and wraparound decks – complete with private plunge pools and outdoor showers, guests can enjoy a luxurious stay in the heart of the tranquil wilderness.

The family suites include a private vehicle and ranger, and are perfectly suited for 2 adults and 2 children, with two day-beds in the lounge for guests under 16. The lodge is intimate, relaxed and trendy with décor inspired by the vibrant colours and textures of our nearby villages.

Kwandwe Uplands Homestead

Kwandwe Uplands Homestead is an exclusive safari villa, nestled amongst the ground’s beautiful manicured gardens which contrast with the sweeping wilderness of the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Shrouded in the romance and spirit of adventure from the classic safari era, the homestead features three luxurious and spacious suites with a comfortable yet elegant design.

All of the suites include their own private verandahs and en-suite bathrooms. Guests can admire the stunning landscape views from the comfort of their beds, while surrounded by antique mirrors, yellowwood trunks and artefacts that call to another time. The kitchen is this homestead’s heart and core where meals are created to be shared by friends and family under the African sky in the boma after the day’s adventures.

Kwandwe Melton Manor

Kwandwe Melton Manor is a private space that inspires the sharing of meals, laughter and experiences around the farmhouse table. The exclusive manor house rests within the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve and overlooks the stunning wilderness and Afromontane forests. The stretching plains extend as far as the eye can see, with verdant shrubs and low-growing trees scattered against the backdrop of the rolling hills.

The manor itself enjoys a simple and contemporary design, the natural colour scheme allowing it to blend into its surroundings and cause minimum disruption to the landscape. Melton Manor consists of 4 double suites, gathered around a spacious central courtyard with a refreshing swimming pool and a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces designed to create a relaxing environment for exciting wildlife viewing.

Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge

Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge rests within a remote section of a private reserve, offering guests an exclusive stay with uninterrupted views of the sweeping wilderness. The rustic yet modern main building blends into the natural landscape and features large viewing decks to allow guests the best views of the surrounding nature, and the perfect spot for watching glorious sunsets or the incredible kudu as they meander down to the river for a drink.

The lodge consists of nine independent suites, all of which feature private plunge pools and a thatched terrace where guests can admire the passing wildlife, including the Big 5, and watch the many different species of birds fly over to the river. With only three mobile tents exclusiveness is guaranteed, and being located in the middle of the vast plains will make guests feel as if they’re in the heart of nature. Spend your days exploring the reserve on foot for an added sense of immersion, and marvel at the untouched and pristine beauty of this corner of Little Karoo. Return to the mobile camp for a relaxing swing in the hammock underneath the trees before enjoying a delicious dinner and refreshing drink around the fire where you can remain for some after-dinner stargazing.

Sanbona Dwyka Tented Lodge

At the foot of the Warmwaterberg Mountains in the Little Karoo plateau, Sanbona Dwyka Tented Lodge is secluded, and surrounded by the raw wildness of South Africa. With mountains rising on either side of the lodge guests are surrounded by immersive nature and once-in-a-lifetime views. Tilney Manor is located at the foot of the Warmwaterberg Mountain Range in Sanbona’s Wildlife Reserve. Surrounded by the beauty of the raw wilderness, guests of Tilney Manor will experience a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience. 6 luxury suites offer accommodation for up to 12 guests and the suites are spacious and bright. Sweeping views can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed and a private verandah offers a place to enjoy the views in privacy. After days spent exploring the bushveld guests can return to the lodge for a refreshing afternoon dip in the swimming pool before enjoying a freshly prepared evening meal in the outside seating area, surrounded by the fresh breezes of Little Karoo.

Located in the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve lies Sanbona Gondwana Family Lodge. Surrounded by the raw wilds of South Africa, this lodge offers guests a traditional safari stay with modern touches. Luxury suites are suitable for families to share and are modern and comfortable with authentic patterns and thatch creating a traditional safari feel. All the suites come with their own private balconies where guests can gaze over the endless horizons and the sparkling Bellair Dam.
