Kaingo Camp

Overlooking the Luangwa River deep within the prime area of the South Luangwa National Park, Kaingo Camp offers endless beauty renowned for game viewing, providing guests with a safari journey they’ll never forget. Each chalet boasts a stunning outdoor bathtub with cool, shady views of the spectacular vistas. A special feature of Kaingo is the unique individual decks built out over the river in front of each chalet. From this relaxing vantage point guests can view game coming down to drink, basking hippos, aquatic birds, crocodiles fishing, and daily elephant crossings.

Three Rivers Camp

Three Rivers Camp is solar powered camp that gracefully resides under a canopy of mature sausage trees. The luxury tents face open plains around either the impressive Luangwa River or spectacular game-rich lagoons. The area is teeming with wildlife including big herds of elephant and buffalo, giraffe, antelope, wild dog and much more. Three Rivers guarantees a truly, private safari in a pristine area of the Luangwa Valley. The camp includes five spacious, elegant tents, each built on elevated platforms to provide exceptional views of the surrounding area’s busy wildlife, with exclusive sleep-out decks for the option of a night under the African sky. Kafunta River Lodge

Kafunta River Lodge is a classic Zambian safari lodge, combining all the essentials for a great safari, located on the floodplains of the Luangwa River, away from the busier area near the park’s Mfuwe gate. During the peak season the lodge accesses the national park via its own pontoon. The lodge was fully renovated in 2019 and offers a relaxed atmosphere with great attention to detail. Made up of just ten charming chalets, the lodge also boasts a spacious bar and dining area at the heart of the retreat – where delicious cuisine is utterly enjoyed. Built around a semi-evergreen wild mango tree, the chalets and main lodge are thatched in the traditional style, all offering superb panoramic views over the Luangwa River and the South Luangwa National Park. Adjacent to the bar is a refreshing infinity pool and the only natural hot spring tub in the Luangwa Valley.

Mpala Jena Camp

Mpala Jena Camp lies within a private concession in Zambezi National Park. Mpala Jena means ‘White Impala’ and according to the local National Park rangers, at the time when the Zambezi National Park was separated from the Victoria Falls National Park and declared a National Park in its own right in 1979, there had been regular sightings of a white albino impala along the river in this area. The Zambezi National Park and Victoria Falls National Park over a total of 56,000 hectares and are home to a number of wildlife species including huge concentrations of buffalo and elephants, as well as antelopes, elands, zebras, giraffes, kudus, waterbucks, lions and leopards. Mpala Jena Camp overlooks the stunning Zambezi River, with three guest tents and two family tents positioned along its shore, under the shade of the riverine trees. The camp has easy access to Victoria Falls but enjoys a tranquil and secluded setting away from the vibrant town, offering a peaceful and private safari experience.

Gorges Camp and Little Gorges

Gorges Camp and Little Gorges lie at the edge of the Batoka Gorge, just a 30-minute drive from Victoria Falls town. Here, guests can enjoy a relaxing stay, surrounded by the ground’s beautiful landscaped garden and the exquisite views of the Batoka Gorge which can be admired from your private verandah, or from the cooling waters of the swimming pool. The two camps are positioned side-by-side, overlooking the rushing waters of the Zambezi River as it makes its way to the basaltic plateau of Victoria Falls. Gorges Camp and Little Gorges enjoy a tranquil atmosphere away from the vibrant Victoria Falls town, meaning that guests can enjoy a soothing and secluded environment with stunning views, but the town is still easy to access for exciting activities such as white water rafting and tours of the local area. Gorges Camp offers a luxurious experience, where guests can stay in a comfortable thatched chalet with private balconies, whereas Little Gorge gives guests a more authentic bush camping experience where you can get close to nature and witness the thrills of safari up close.

Kapamba Bushcamp

Set on the banks of the shallow, spring-fed eponymous river, Kapamba is surrounded by some of Africa’s richest wildlife. Kapamba Bushcamp’s four stone chalets each showcase a wall that consists of a spider-web design of metal latticework, giving guests amazing views of the Kapamba River. Guests can watch the frequent wild visitors of the river from the multi-level main deck, or from the ease of their own private verandas or pool-size bathtubs. Watching an elephant bathe in the river can be quite an experience when you’re lounging in your own private plunge pool. Sundowners in the river and bush dinners are both popular additions to the itinerary for Kapamba stays. The bushcamp allows guests the opportunity to experience once-in-a-lifetime game drives and safari walks, encountering a wealth of wildlife and countless species.

The Elephant Camp

The Elephant Camp rests within a private concession, offering stunning views of the rainbow spray from Victoria Falls from its location between the Masuwe River and the Zambezi gorges. The main deck overlooks the cavernous Batoka Gorge, with the ‘Smoke That Thunders’ resting lightly on the horizon.
 
Located just twenty minutes from the world’s largest waterfall, The Elephant Camp allows guests to enjoy both the fascinating wildlife of the African bush, the tranquillity of the Zambezi’s vast floodplains, and the unique and exciting Victoria Falls.
 
The Lodge provides guests with an authentic safari experience within a luxurious space, with a sunken fire pit, boma dining area, and private plunge pools. Guests can engage with nature and even visit the elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary and Orphanage and meet the elephants who are currently rehabilitating and being cared for before their release back into the wild.

The Elephant Camp West

The Elephant Camp West is both a stand-alone safari camp, and an extension of the main Elephant Camp, which is designed to cater for smaller groups and families. The camp consists of just four luxury tented suites, all of which have their own private deck and plunge pools that are positioned perfectly on a ridge that overlooks the Smoke that Thunders – the perpetual mist that hangs over the Victoria Falls Rainforest – and offering panoramic views of the wilderness and Zambezi Gorges.

The Elephant Camp West is an eco-conscious camp, and during its construction, bush clearing was kept to a minimum to reduce the impact on the environment and surrounding landscape. Guests can also engage with nature and visit the elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary and Orphanage and meet the elephants who are currently rehabilitating and being cared for before their release back into the wild.

Lion Camp

Lion Camp is an intimate, privately owned safari lodge in one of the best safari locations in Zambia – South Luangwa National Park. It is built on the edge of an oxbow lagoon which attracts a wide variety of wildlife. Game viewing in and around camp is spectacular with lions, leopards, wild dogs, large herds of elephant and buffalo. The camp sees the highest concentration of hippo in Africa, incredible bird viewing, and plentiful sightings of the unique Thornicroft’s Giraffe, Cookson’s Wildebeest and Crawshay’s Zebra. Walking safaris and game drives at Lion Camp are expertly led by some of South Luangwa’s best guides. Luangwa Safari House

Luangwa House has been designed to appease the senses from the minute you arrive.
