Garden Rooms

With 284 guest rooms in 5 room categories, Meeru offers comfortable accommodation with tropical decor and modern amenities, whether close to the beach or over-the-water. A flat-screen TV and DVD player, as well as an iPod docking station are available. Located in a ‘U’ shaped block near the Dhoni Bar pool, the newly renovated Garden Rooms offer a beautiful little hideaway for those wishing to escape to the tropical waters of the Maldives. Complete with a sun deck, en suite bathroom and shaded area beneath the towering coconut trees, these rooms are finished in light blue hues to match the beauty of the ocean just outside. Guests can relax with an array of modern amenities, including air-conditioning, Free Wi-Fi and rain shower.

Jacuzzi Beach Villas

These luxurious villas are located at the water’s edge on the beach, complete with a private jacuzzi under the stars and a sundeck to relax on as you watch the sunset over the horizon. In this tropically-decorated villa guests can enjoy an extra-large king-sized bed, partially open-air bathroom and many modern amenities. But, perhaps the best thing is simply waking up to the view of the glorious Indian Ocean right on your doorstep.

Jacuzzi Water Villas

Along a short jetty out into the lagoon awaits your own private Jacuzzi Water Villa. Relax in your own private jacuzzi under the stars, or recline on the sundeck over the crystal blue waters. Step down the stairs from the bedroom right into the water, and watch all your stresses melt away. Complete with all modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi, these Water Villas are the height of luxury, nestled in the astounding beauty of the Maldives.

Hot Rock Restaurant & Bar

Located on the east side of the island on the Pavilion Bar Pool deck is the Hot Rock Restaurant. This unique dining experience allows guests to choose from a wide selection of meats, served on – you guessed it –  a ceramic hot rock to be cooked at the table. Sit back with a cocktail and peruse the à la carte menu full of appetising starters, a range of seafood delights and many dishes to delight your tastebuds. So relax by the ocean and experience this wonderfully distinctive dining experience at Hot Rock Restaurant & Bar.

Asian Wok Restaurant

If you fancy more flash, perhaps having your meal cooked right in front of you on a flaming table is what you’re looking for. Enjoy fresh lobster or perhaps some scallops, as you is dine in the ‘over-the-water’ restaurant. It is a real exploration of Japanese cuisine in the Maldives.

Meeru Café

Down at the Meeru Café at the Dhoni Bar Pool you can enjoy ice cream, pastries, a wide range of coffees and teas, as well as panini and sandwiches. As you dip in the pool or get back from splashing in the ocean, you can refresh with a glass of fruit juice or a milkshake!

Water Sports

There is no better place for water sports than Meeru’s crystal clear blue lagoon. Spend the day sailing on a catamaran, explore the water around the island on a kayak or paddle board, and let your inner thrill-seeker free while jet skiing, wake-boarding, water skiing or windsurfing. Whether you want a relaxed afternoon in a kayak, or an adrenaline pumping water ski adventure, you can do it all at Meeru Maldives Resort & Spa.

Snorkelling

Grab your mask and snorkel and head out into the water to explore all that lies under the surface. With an instructor you can head out the shallow and lively reefs, where schools of fish, turtles and reef sharks navigate the beautiful waters. Even head out to the reef at night see observe a completely different array of underwater life – watch turtles sleeping and jack fish hunting as you get to see Maldives’ most beautiful residents. Minimum age for each activity is 6 years old.

Land Sports

Meeru provides a variety of sports facility including tennis courts, a golf course, fitness centre, beach volleyball, bicycle rental, a football pitch, and two fresh-water swimming pools and a children pool. Open from 06:00 to 20:00, you can take a break from all that relaxing on the beach to get those endorphins pumping.

Excursions

Meeru offers many different excursions you can organise right at the front desk, including a trip to Turtle Reef and many boat trips where you can fish, watch the sunset, or just enjoy life out on the water.

Cultural Awareness

The Meeru Island Resort & Spa is not only a place of astounding beauty and wonderful service, the resort prides itself on how it highlights and celebrates Maldivian culture. While it can so often be the case that holiday resorts can dwindle the authentic culture of a destination, Meeru have made sure to make Maldivian culture a centre piece. This way, not only is the culture sustained, but guests get to experience true Maldivian life, and learn about the rich history. Along with the resort’s own museum, casting and big game fishing excursions are offered so you can learn how to fish like a local! Guests are welcomed with traditional song, and the sound of Bodu Beru drums, and each building is influenced by traditional architecture, and built using Coconut Palm Tree, the country’s national tree!

Saying No to Single-Use Plastics

Between 2017 and 2019, Meeru Island Resort & Spa have decreased their use of plastic water bottles by an incredible 71%. Each room, restaurant and bar now features glass water bottles.

Coral Rehabilitation Program

For over four years, Meeru Coral Garden has been the sight of a coral rehabilitation project that guests are welcome to take part in. Through a process of replanting nursery coral plants, this intervention is designed to encourage the regrowth of segments of coral. Before you go you can even spy the resort’s underwater webcam! This incredible project is vital for marine life and the health of the oceans, and you can be a part of it.

Meeru Garden

This resort features the wonderful Meeru Garden. Developed not only to meet the needs of the busy kitchen, the garden also provides guests with a ‘Nature and Vegetation Exploration’ of the sustainably run project. Its existence means that not only can you enjoy fresh and flavourful produce grown right on the island, but also that there is on-going preservation and respect paid to the natural surroundings.

Child Friendly

As one of the top family-friendly resorts in the Maldives, Meeru offers many different children’s activities, for all ages. Children can cycle around the island exploring or take part in one of the many excursions. Koma’s Kids Club also offers play spaces for children of all ages, which include art activities and soft play. Kids can splash around in the children’s pool or monkey-around in the playground.
