Fresh water is derived from the seawater through reverse osmosis before being mineralised and chilled for guests to enjoy. Hurawalhi is home to its very own marine biology centre with an in-house marine biologist. Its conservation efforts offer an understanding of the coral reefs and rare marine life. In partnership with the Manta Trust, biologists conduct research into the population numbers of Manta Rays and study reef ecology. By studying the encounters, biologists can improve tactics to protect them and in close cooperation with Prodivers Maldives, the resort is able to share this passion.

Due to the hot climate of the island’s location, harnessing solar energy is an obvious choice to be made. Solar panels are installed throughout the resort and is equipped with an amount that is equal to the size of 26 volleyball courts (4.102.5m2).
