Therefore, to return the sentiment to the nature which is the greatest aspect of The Datai, a pledge was created. The Datai Pledge is a programme of initiatives with the single-minded objective of creating a sustainable environment for the future. Operating by these main initiatives ensures that The Datai is as sustainable as possible.

In order to consume less energy, all lights at The Datai have been fitted with LED’s which are much more efficient than normal lightbulbs. Also, The Datai uses a system which controls all of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning throughout the resort, and this is controlled in a main hub to ensure that only what is needed is being utilised.

The Datai has eradicated the use of all single-use plastics, and has replaced all of these with recyclable alternatives. Also, the installation of a water-bottling station at the resort ensures that reusable bottles can be refilled, and therefore there is no need for guests to buy single-use plastic bottles.
