Arusha Coffee Lodge offers tours of its impressive coffee estate (a must for fanatics of the brown stuff), while a little further afield Arusha’s National Park beckons, home to flamingos and Africa’s largest giraffe population, among others. Back in the city, the Natural History Museum is a highlight, with fascinating displays on the city’s colonial history as well as archaeology in the area and its contribution to our understanding of early human life. Be sure to visit Soko Kuu, the central market, for a flavour of daily Tanzanian life and a tasty bite to eat.
